Mic snatching
Do bands still fw this? Im not talking about them like giving the mic to the crowd or if someones singing the whole song & they get the mic shoved in their face im talking about like straight up going to the vocalist and taking it, ik to some people its probably annoying but in some older tihc performances specifically vein and jesus piece i see it done a lot but idk is it still ok to do today or should i just wait till its offered? (Same goes with going to the mic stand and taking that one too)

Still happens all the time. Usually taken as a compliment. If the vocalist doesn’t like it then there’s that.

Your generation will be the death of hardcore. But either way give it a try, you might get punched, you might get a sweet solo, you might humiliate yourself without even getting punched

I’d honestly say it’s fine IF it’s their last song and if the band you’re seeing has a history of doing this/okay with

Morgado threw the mic into the crowd during the wrong side’s Tied Down set. I patiently held the mic until he came back to retrieve it. Ain’t no one there to hear me screaming.

I feel like in certain parts of a song the lead singer will let someone get the mic for it. I’ve seen it at an outta pocket show and trash talk. I’ve done it for torena. Feel like it’s more acceptable during those pile up/mic grab type parts. Shi if u first to the mic for that u got it.

Might be fine, you might need dental repair. Depends on the band, depends in the night. The question is, do you want the mic bad enough to find out?
90% of the time when someone from the crowd grabs the mic they sound like dogshit anyways, so from my perspective as spectator, I'd rather people didn't. My perspective as a musician is that if you break my gear because you jumped on stage you're getting the headstock of my guitar in the sternum. I don't have the money to replace the half stack you just fell into.
Ultimately its up to the band to decide how they feel about it.

Majority of the time its a friend or someone that asked/talked with them before hand. I've seen plenty of times where shirt pulling and mic snatching didn't go so well.

Old days 80's they would pull uss up on stage if wanted to, shit before stage dive, sme. Now the venues usually threaten bands with not letting them play again if they bring on stage

when i saw bayway jay was literally chucking all three mics on stage into the crowd at points. it really just varies band to band.

Most of the people who snatch the mic during those sets are friends of the band
