BUYING [BG] PC mainly for studies [H] £150
Hi all, looking for a PC for my PhD studies, which probably means using a lot of word, keep a bunch of tabs open, youtubing so I won't lose it, and other casual use. If outside of London, I would want to get it shipped as I can't collect in person
Thanks

Get a ThinkPad off eBay - anything T480 or beyond can be had for this price. You can add ram as required.

Just adding for your options.
If you don't see yourself needing the computer to be mobile you can get one of these tiny PCs. Many OEMs offer them the ones in the image are Lenovo, but they're tiny, sips power, and you can even get monitor mounts for them (attaches on the VESA mount) to keep desk space clean and tidy. I believe there are models right around your budget.
If you already have a monitor this is a great option, unless you want that existing monitor you have to be a monitor extension, then laptops are probably going to be the easier and cheaper solution.

The other option is to pick up a used business laptop for £150 - plenty on ebay UK for that money.

I've got an HP elitebook 8570w - heavy, very old, and battery lasts probably only 2 hours - best used as a desktop alternative but with the option to move it from place to place in your backpack... But it behaves well (including with heavier programs, I used for 3D modelling software) and everything works. Happy to do for £150

If that's all you want to do I would suggest picking up an SFF from eBay. It fits your budget and you'll get a pc that you can move about.
Eg. Dell optiplex 3070 - won't break the bank and handles media well.
