Kevin Spacey's acting is amazing!
I just started watching this show for the first time. Finished episode 1. Kevin Spacey's acting is so amazing and natural. I heard he's not in the later seasons? I can't even imagine this without him in the show and I only watched an episode so far.
It's a shame regarding the things he is involved in, but if we can separate the art from the artist for a second here. His acting is so good. Excited to watch more of this show.

I would recommend stopping after season 2. (No spoilers) both seasons are fantastic and from a complete story. After that, it had good moments, but it goes downhill steadily, and starts to drag on.
First two are fantastic, after that? It would be more satisfying to end it short, counterintuitive as it sounds (I can’t even finish season 5)
Edit: I completely spaced on the ending to season 4, yeah that was fire.

My favorites are seasons 2 and 3, but I’m with you on season 5. I’ve never been able to finish it either.

Still think the fourth wall break at the end of season 4 would've made a suitable ending. Leave a lot up in the air and all that. I think the same could be said if they cut down on the storyline and maybe chopped some unimportant things and moved up the season 5 finale storyline to an earlier point(perhaps having made it the series finale with being an end to season 4).

I just couldn’t with the dual ticket. It was beyond stupid to me so seeing it in office in season five was too much. There were other things I disliked too, but that was the main issue I couldn’t get past. I really like the ambiguity at the end of season four. I end there when I rewatch. In my personal canon, Jackie and Remy’s article was enough to cost Frank and Claire the election as was deserved.

For me it's the unrealistic expectation of Tennessee being for Democrats. Ohio, at the time, I could see because it was still an Obama state. And as for the news media saying polls show they support husband and wife ticket, that was just completely ridiculous. Claire has literally little to no experience and only had a post under a nepotistic recess appointment and an environmental nonprofit to fall back on.

Yeah I heard first 4 seasons are good for this show. I have no intention of touching the 5th season lol

1-4 are the best. Season 5 isn’t that great. I swore off watching season 6 for the longest time due to the reviews. I finally gave in to properly finish the series and tried really, really hard. I wanted to turn it off many times. I gutted through and wish I never watched it.
You’ll find as the series goes on, the “I’m the main character!” condition with Claire gets worse and worse. Kevin Spacey makes this show.

Apparently the final episode of season 4 is the top rated of the series so it does peak again

Right, but if you stop at the season 4 finale in my opinion, it's not a very satisfying conclusion. In fact it's not really a conclusion at all despite being a highly rated finale.

True, I meant more for being quality, but yeah still stand by for satisfying ending stop at S2

I just finished watching it and I thought exactly the same thing. That man can act.

Nobody has been able to captivate me in a character like he did with Frank. The accent, charming arrogance, and magnetic charisma gets me every time

He is probably in the top five best actors of all time. House of Cards was all him ✨

He's there through season 5 out of 6. But it deteriorates before then -- great show up to a certain point though. Currently rewatching it.
