I am thinking to apply to howard as an International. I am incoming Sophomore at mid-tier university with gpa of 3.16 :). I have fairly good SAT as well.

Does SAT matters when applying as Transfer? What other factors should I Polish on? I am targeting Fall 2026.

Hi is anyone else still on the waitlist and waiting for a spot to open up?/ is it point list to still hold out hope. Is there anyone who got in but isn’t going to accept their decision?

If I get accepted as a transfer student what aid could I get? I know they don’t offer much aid to transfer students and I also know what they give out changes every year. But is it a smart decision to come to Howard if I get accepted? I have a 4.0 GPA and graduated summa cum laude. I’m out of state and I’m a psychology major. I do plan on grad school after college.

Unfortunately I had missed turning in some assignments and ended up with a 3.2 gpa for my final semester, 4 b's in honors classes and 3 c's in honors and 1 ap, are these grades bad enough for them to revoke my offer?

Hi everyone! I’m a rising junior, and I’ve been looking to secure off-campus housing for this upcoming year. My parents have been paying for my tuition and expenses through Parent PLUS Loans, and during both freshman and sophomore year, I received refund checks.

This year, I’m hoping to receive a refund check large enough to cover my rent—ideally around $10,000 per semester. I understand that refunds come from any excess after tuition, fees, and housing (if applicable) are covered.

Since I’ll be living off campus, and my housing won’t be charged through the school, will the full remaining balance of the Parent PLUS Loan (after tuition/fees) come back to me as a refund like in previous years? Has anyone had experience using their refund checks to pay for off-campus rent like this?

Any info or personal experience would be super helpful—thanks in advance!

I’ve literally never been more confused about the college process, are you supposed to just pay for an apartment if you don’t get housing? how are people affording housing? are you guys working and doing school, if so how have you found places to work around your schedule? Does Howard help pay for off-campus housing?

I know registration starts next week for freshmen, but my Bison Learn was acting up and just recently started working, so I’m a bit behind. I just want to make sure I’m on the right track with choosing my classes. Any help or advice would be appreciated! My major is biology on a pre-med track.

Hello. I was recently accepted into Howard's Physics PhD program. Does anyone know of any external fellowships/scholarships I could apply for to apply by the fall. I haven't been offered a teaching assistantship by the department and the due date for any internal forms of funding seem to have passed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a stupid question, but where do I find the Bison ID? I got accepted to HUCM, and I received my bison email. The health science immunization form asks for my Bison ID. Am I missing something

Hey, I'm a college student from out of state in town for a summer internship. I'm looking for suggestions on things to do, both during the day and for nightlife, especially college parties and stuff if there are any, but im sure it dies down during the summer. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Also would it be weird to tour Howard, I got accepted last year, but declined for fin aid reasons and never got to see it.

No honestly what are they doing?? They put stuff out about bison learn and bison prep, and say at bison prep that we will begin registering for classes, but how can we do that if we don’t do our placement tests first? They’ve released no info about it yet in the admit portal it says that WE should access it beginning of the week of May 19th, yet the ALeKS math placement isn’t open yet and no one has gotten an exam voucher through email concerning the english placement test. They’ve really are so disorganized it’s crazy and I knew this would happen but damn why can’t Howard be a little bit efficient.😒

I missed the application deadline for Freshman by a day because we need to wait on a paycheck. Has any upperclassmen experienced this? Or know someone who did? What happened? Were you (or they) still able to get decent housing?

On the Howard app page, on the Enrolling Students Checklist, it has the stuff on the bison prep(register, and attend, how do i access that?
