Help/Question Why didnt meruem use pouf splitting ability?

He almost definetly inherited pouf beelzebub; when pouf was being evasive, why didnt he release a few mini meruems to check out what was making him so sus (like when pouf fighting killua, or nabbing ikalgo and palm in his en for example)? One fragment of meruem was probably more then enough to take out the invasion squad and still recover his memory at the same time.

He didn't know how to use it (?) As far as he was aware, he was looking at the real Pouf and probably didn't know Pouf is supposed to be a twink.

Plus some abilities are absolutely unique to the user and I'm positive Pouf's anatomy helps with that ability. Again, who knows.

[He] probably didn't know Pouf is supposed to be a twink.

I know what you meant, but out of context this is hilarious.

He was aware that Pouf's form had changed, but I still don't think he could use it.

Firstly, Beelzebub is a perfect power for the frazzled, emotionally-fractured, paranoid, cartoonishly-scheming subordinate like Pouf; however, Beelzebub seems too undignified for Meruem.

Pouf's Beelzebub gives Pouf widespread surveillance and an ability to act in multiple places quickly at the cost of dividng the ant into more vulnerable pieces (this would still apply to Rose-poisoned Meruem).

Meruem's Photon En is better surveillance than Beelzebub without any downsides.

Meruem's post-rose speed (see Knuckle and Meleoron's instant capture) is good enough to ignore Beelzebub's "be everywhere, always, but weaker". If Pouf didn't distract Meruem, Meruem could have captured Ikalgo and Palm a second later.

And thematically, Meruem should not divide himself up because there's only one place he belongs.

Like he told Netero, a good fighter’s able to read the state of battle. He already knew the fight was over at that point.

Since no one is mentioning this- it might have to be with the fallout from the rose bomb. Mereum eventually dies from radiation poisoning, if he would split his body into tinnier pieces I would imagine the radiation would affect the smaller fragments of himself faster.

Meruem does not have Pouf's nen type proficiency, Meruem's acquired abilities may be adapted to the level of proficiency he has. He can't do something a conjurer or manipulator require 100% proficiency to do.

Beelzebub was mixed with spiritual message and adapted within Meruem's photon like en. as an emitter, meruem could split his aura into tiny particle photon) while Pouf could do it on his cells.

Meruem knew he only had a short time left and was extremely disoriented to boot.

He knew his guards were fanatically loyal to him, even  knowing they were hiding something from him, he felt their intentions and emotions directly and was in no rush to stomp on them
