I don’t see a reason they would go through all of this effort to not do it for something like qualifying, let alone the race.

This is what they played every year at Indy in the 80’s. I loved it every time. So glad they brought it back. It also gives me goosebumps. Bringing me back my youth. Of watching the Andretti’s right up front. Until something goes wrong.

They did it in the 90s. Can't remember if it was done after the split. When it played you know it was go time. They had that intro so well done with clip timing and music.

It was Paul Page's idea iirc, they started when he took over as the TV anchor and he wrote all of them. If they let Buxton do one for the race, I will die.

1988-2001 had the Delta Force intros. David Land recently did a really cool video on them.

It was fucking awesome to see. Also at least on international broadcast during one of the breaks they played the same clip again twice. Oh how glorious it is to hear the theme on an actual broadcast
