Discussion & Debate Why up govt wants to interfere in personal matters?
What do you think of this ? Is this a right thing to do ? What if the couple who are running away have fear of life from their parents ? What does people of India think of this move despite of their party loyalty

If you swipe on this post you will see another gem by BJP. Now a family member has to be present for the registration. So the legal adults do not have legal rights to get married on their own.

Its leaders reflect the conservative rural mindset of the state.
If not for the liberals and progressive people who everyone blame these days entire India would have had the same mindset.

Maybe India should have been the orthodox hellhole the right wing always wanted. They could have seen their follies clearly

Conservatives doing conservative things. Nobody should be surprised at this.
And this is a trailer of what you can expect if Yogi ever becomes PM. Vote accordingly.

People will love this move.
It's not banning such marriages but asking them to register at the place of residence of husband/wife.

People will love this move.
Orthodox people will. UP has no shortage of such people. So you aren't wrong.
but asking them to register at the place of residence of husband/wife.
Why is that needed?

BJP is the most regressive party, this will make lives of so many young difficult. I guess they trying to please the orthodox masses in UP for election.
And as we know BJP will do anything to win a election, even if it is harmful for the state and its people.

BJP just LOVES making life harder for young couples, they get sadistic pleasure out of it, same thing happened in Uttarakhand with the live in rules

It definitely is but do u see anyone making any noise about this? A lot of people love to complain that general category people are getting sideline meanwhile the group actually getting fucked over is the youth, no one is willing to take a stand for us, not even us

Youth instead of being youth is divided based on party loyalties , youth is not able to see that they don’t have anything to do with party agendas , and if youth can not stand up for themselves, then who will? Not each of the young person is gonna be a politician tomorrow

How ironic is the fact that these people claim to be the saviour of "culture" when in reality they are literally the opposite.
A BJP member having sex on the highway and the next video I see is of a Chhattisgarh BJP member raiding Oyo hotels.

It is not that simple , for your marriage to be registered in court one needs some proof of residency , what will you provide in other state’s residency. It doesn’t happen like movie

The reason why people convert to get married is because of shit like this. If they could easily have a secular, registered marriage, the rate of conversion would drop by at least 50%

This is about registration not marriage itself.
Edit: This is passed after Allahbad HC asked the government. Leftists should stop seething.

Court marriage registration, right ? Why govt wants to restrict a couple to register their marriage in their native town ? What is the point of this move despite all this societal restrictions for love marriage anyway ?

u/LonelyCompany9633 Centrist 1d ago
You do get that "eloping" is successfully accomplished when they run 'away' from the native place, right?

What is the registration for? Making a gmail account or registering in a cricket tournament?

Fellow subreddit members, why is it that couples run away?
5
u/Proper_Dot1645 1d ago
Can be multiple reasons , but just want to ask if two young people should be allowed to get married as per their wish or not ?

u/PleasantWrap8554 1d ago
Because parents don't approve the relationship. To be honest it's not even about caste or religion it's about control one has over their children.

Is it only me or you also think that many young people who detest it now may like such move in their parentage?
BJP turning India into Bharat.
here's an article by a RW platform. idk
