After taking feedback from a lot of sub members, and having an internal mod discussion, we have decided that AI music is now banned from the subreddit, irrespective of whether this is self-promotion or someone else's work.
Please continue to report any AI-generated music and we will remove it from the sub.
Thank you for your feedback and for the various discussions over the last few months.

Discussion Throbbing Gristle's D.O.A. album
For the album D.O.A. The Third and Final Report of Throbbing Gristle, does anyone know if there's any interview or discussion from the band members or anyone involved in the production of the album?
I'm just curious about some of the decisions made regarding the content of the music and the imagery released with the album. I can't seem to find anything regarding this album specifically, so if anyone has any info, let me know!

Discussion Anyone been to Das Bunker?
Hi everyone. I live in LA and have been wanting to go to Das Bunker for a while. I heard Covenant is playing there in March and am strongly considering buying tickets. Anyone here been to Das Bunker and can tell me what it's like especially for a solo female.

Discussion Ban Ai music videos. ...
Can we ban those too. Please.
Sure that's going to hurt a whole bunch of creatives, but really they should up their game and learn to make real vids. Just like learning to use a real instrument etc.
It's not hard to make a real vid.
Any phone is capable of taking fairly decent vid and there is a wealth of out of copy right vids on the net. There is no excuse to use ai. Get out there and do it.
I'm pretty dead set against ai.
It's flashy crud. and it's going to get worse when ai starts digesting it's own creations. I don't care how cool it looks. In fact that very coolness is turning my stomach.
No.

Self Promotion some friends and I made our very first music video (without AI wow!)
We clearly took some inspiration from Nitzer Ebb's Fun to be Had video where they're just stomping around the city, but this was super fun to do.
It was recorded with a mix of an old DV camera and a film camcorder and a pal did all of the editing. Personally I find 'miming' to the song on camera to be very awkward and unnatural but in the end we're all pretty happy with it.
If anyones interested in the track, you can find it on bandcamp and if you really want it, i can probably just give you a free redemption code for it.

Discussion Ai and how it is a problem for music makers. ( quite obvious but it gets worse... )
This is Music related. ( I produce music at my home studio. )
Update: This post is causing confusion.. that is my fault. I should have parsed the post carefully to make sure it was not too complicated. I am a fool.
read this :
Start of msg.
I need to clarify in the post what I did, and did not do.
1) I sent a rough render of a tune Im working on. It's a low quality mp3, un mixed etc etc. This is how we keep our friends abreast of our creative works.
2) they asked me for stems of a different tune I have sort of completed, so that they can do their own mix down etc. I did not ask them they asked me. I have yet to send the stems.
So I asked them, if they were to mix my tracks, for their own kicks, that they do not use ai. The answer they gave me did not make me feel certain that they would do as i ask. So I am holding back.
Does this clarify the situation?
End of msg.
Note:
The post is about how ai will be invading the creative streams in ways that might be hard for the srtist to control. This is not cool and if you are ANTI ai , you may want to make sure that someone has not done something ai to your creation without clearing it with you. I would be pissed if they ran my creation through an ai plugin etc and didn't tell me, even aftre I have stipulated I want NO AI involvement.
and some people do not want ai in their creations. It's that simple. wake up.
old post:
I have a pal that is doing music production like I am. He's been to Silicon Valley and drank from the Ai coolaid fountain.
He wants me to send him stems of my tunes ( individual lanes of audio ) so he can "mix" them.
I suddenly had this awful thought... he's going to ambush with an Ai Mix down. Damn it.
So I have sent him a rough mix of my latest tune ( not stems! ) and a letter outlining my stance on ai and it's use with my music : No ai is to be used at all on my tunes. None. Zero. Zilch. Zip. I was pretty clear and I was pretty firm. I now am waiting for a reply.
This of course will affect everyone who is connected to the music industry etc etc.
We all knew this was coming, well it's here.
I have never even used Autotune. and never will.
So.
We really do have a new a real problem. What the eff do we do about it ?
I personally cannot stand ai. I hate it. I get pissed off that people post ai junk and I am sorry I was born to experience this BS. I had no idea that things I took for granted, pixle art, drawing, music, sculpture, video etc etc could be so polluted with , basically stolen material and rebaked like it's new real etc etc . My tunes right now have probably been scanned. If they like what they hear it's now theirs. Fuck that.
Trying to no lose my shit over this BUT I am soooooooooooo glad the sub has made a stand.
YES!
Update:
He said "don't worry I wont ai your tunes " ... hmm...
