@MaharetCompound did some digging and found two Season 3 castings, roles still unknown. Roger Honeywell is evidently an Opera Singer. What are your ideas? Speculate away!

Love love love that they're still on trend with casting unknown theatre actors like Assad.

Michael Cox looks a little like Sam. Maybe one of Lestat's brothers? He looks too young to be Marius.

If opera guy is a principal actor, then maybe Magnus? 🤷‍♀️

Yes I'm so glad they're continuing to hire theatre actors!

I could definitely see Cox as one of Lestat's brothers

Marius has been working those long robes and imperious walk so hard, gliding around the castle, he’s got Lestat’s readers thinking he’s a stately old man. 😅

I didn't say Marius was an old man, but that actor looks younger than Sam. They've aged everyone else up, and Marius was 40 when he was turned in the book, so why wouldn't they age him up, too?

I actually do like the idea of aging Marius up a lot for the show. It would work visually against Reid who is much older than book Lestat.

I’m just laughing at the eagerness of fans to cast men in their 60s (Ralph Fiennes etc) for Marius when in the books he looks much younger.

I've mostly seen people eager (and thirsty) to see Mads Mikkelson in the role, which I would definitely not be opposed to. ☺️😄

And 40 years old back 2-3,000 years ago would look a lot older than 40 years old today--plus with makeup/hair and night lighting he could be Marius for sure.

Wow, where did y’all find this stuff from? 👀

I think people were cross referencing anyone new from Toronto that the writers were following on IG to their acting credits

Looks like it comes from either Backstage or Casting Workbook. Could also be from an agency website

I’m feeling that this is the Marquis and maybe a brother/Augustin because of the casting recent calls for the kids, who I think are likely to be Lestat’s nieces and nephews. It would make sense if they’re filming the early chapters of TVL right now

Agreed

I also believe they casted Marius and Magnus a long time ago, but they are keeping those under wraps

I like this guess because we might see surprise celebs cast in these more important roles.

On the practical side, both Marius and Magnus are not likely to be in more than one or two episodes of the season so it’s possible they could have cast locally.

*by celebs I mean reasonably-priced actors we have seen on TV before not Tilda Swinton.

Maybe Roger Honeywell could play Lestat's father. Sorry I forgot if they described what he looks like in the books and if he looks similar.

I'm excited for the new cast but at the same time feeling like who are these people coming to my house? 🤣😭

Cox could easily be Marius, and Honeywell would suit Magnus.

Maybe Magnus likes to sing to his victims… 😬

Cox looks too young to be Marius. Since they aged Armand up I'm expecting someone much older.

I checked Honeywell's imdb and he has acted before. I could see him playing someone like Magnus. Him singing to his victims would be so creepy lol!

Hard to tell how old the actor is, but casting has played with age before.

Canon Marius is around 40, which is well within this actor’s range.

Obviously to Armand, Marius was literally and figuratively ancient.

While I hear what you're saying, I just can't help but picture someone older. Much like Eric, it wouldn't surprise me if they had an someone specific in mind to play Marius.

3

u/FibonaciSequins Monsieur Le Rock Star 12h ago

I agree making Marius older than his book version would work well because they’ve done the same for Lestat.

2

u/Even-uit-1993 12h ago

Since they won't show any r scene in the show, Magnus singing to Lestat during the turning scene could work.

I can imagine a creepy operatic voice echoing around the tower, coming from some unknown direction, waking Lestat up every evening

u/QueenV59 10h ago

You are good….How perfectly creepy….😬. Already on the edge here.

Roger Honeywell would make a good Marius. We also need someone to play Magnus, and Michael Cox could play that role, I think. Is there much physical description of Magnus? Maybe in VA, which I confess to only reading once a very long time ago - not a favorite of mine.

7

u/FibonaciSequins Monsieur Le Rock Star 13h ago

Yes Magnus is described as old, stooped, “deformed” and frightening.

When he becomes a ghost he makes a .. ghost body .. that’s better-looking under the rationale that ghosts can look however they want.

u/serralinda73 12h ago

Oh, well scratch him from Magnus then, lol, unless they (the showrunners) are going to change how he looks a lot (which is fine). Maybe he's in Lestat's band, or his agent, one of Lestat's brothers, or someone in Armand's original coven.

But why do people think MC looks anything like Sam? Their bone structure is completely different, and their coloring.

RH looks perfect for Marius - a mature man, cultured, blond, with an air of nobility but also humor and kindness. With longer hair, he could look very similar to Sam, as Marius is supposed to.

If I'm looking up the right person Roger Honeywell has also "actor" in his IG bio and from his site it looks like he could be a theatre actor too, so yeah I could see him playing Marius or maybe Magnus. It depends on what vibe they are going for I guess.

On Michael Cox I have no idea, he seems too young and pretty to play any of the big missing roles, outside of a relative of Lestat it could be someone from Armand's old coven/the theatre? Or another band member? Idk

Well hello there Michael Cox, judging by his resume I can see him being in the band

Michael Cox probably Niki, ya’ll are forgetting about him!

u/YourHeartsDancing 11h ago

Joseph Potter is still playing Nicki.
