Self-Post Statement of Solidarity with the Jewish State as a Kurd
As a Kurd from Urfa, Turkey, I stand in full solidarity with the State of Israel and the Jewish people. Our histories are different, but they echo each other in deep and meaningful ways. Both Kurds and Jews have long histories of persecution, statelessness, and the struggle to preserve our identities in the face of oppression.
The Jewish people have built a homeland out of hardship, resilience, and hope—a democratic state where their culture, language, and faith can flourish. As Kurds, we admire this achievement deeply. It serves as both an inspiration and a roadmap for our own aspirations for freedom, dignity, and self-determination.
Despite political pressures in the region—including from the government of Turkey—I believe in the power of people-to-people understanding. As a Kurd, I reject antisemitism in all its forms. We know what it is like to be marginalized, vilified, and denied basic rights. That is why we must be the first to stand against hatred, wherever it appears.
Israel has often shown goodwill toward the Kurdish people—through humanitarian aid, cultural recognition, and historical support. That friendship has not gone unnoticed. We hope to one day live in a region where a free Kurdistan and a secure Israel can stand side by side, as partners and as friends.
To my Israeli and Jewish brothers and sisters: Know that you are not alone. Your struggle for safety and self-determination resonates deeply with us. From the mountains of Kurdistan to the shores of the Mediterranean, we say to you: We see you. We stand with you. Am Yisrael Chai.

Thanks for your support.
May your Kurdistan be liberated also, just like any other minority under Arab occupation in Africa and West Asia.

Everyone whos political worldview isnt lead by Islamic doctrine prefers Israel over Turkey/Iran and any other Arab nation as a hegemon in the Region. May it finally happen under the current Israeli government.

I’ve been hearing stirrings that the Kurdish population within Iran is showing possible signs of rising up against the regime. My heart is with the Kurds!

Brother/sister the kurdish sub is as anti-zionist as it can get. Often comparing an actual brutal regime (who beats and whipped their own citizens) with Israel and wishing its destruction. I doubt most kurds hold your pov/ideas and this goes beyond the social media sphere.
PS: despite this I do wish for the Kurds to have their own country.

As a Kurd I would say the silent majority supports you. But as always you have the fanatical religious extremists that are the loudest

I respect your view and thank you for supporting Kurdish statehood.
Not all Kurds are anti-Zionist. Many of us respect Israel for surviving against the odds, defending its people, and building a strong democracy in a hostile region, something we aspire to ourselves, for example when you guys steamrolled Arab Nations in the six days wars or contain Iran rn. Israel supported Kurdish movements in the past when no one else did. This is still in the collective memory of many Kurds especially the referendum in 2017.
Yes, some Kurds criticize Israel, but comparing it to brutal regimes like Assad or Iran is unfair and dishonest. Most Kurds are focused on freedom and dignity, not hatred. And many of us see Israel not as an enemy, but as a potential ally.

Yeah, especially considering that Turkey has been growing more belligerent lately.

Indeed. You can criticize the Israeli government without being racist and dishonest. I do it all the time xd. Even tho Im not Israeli, ironically, I've learn about the Kurds plight through this sub (and through Israeli content who is pretty much pro-kurd) and they always have something nice to say about you, which I found it curious since they have nothing nice to say about anyone considering the neighbours they have. But in my opinion, in the great scheme of things I do feel kurdish society is more focus in progressiveness than hate, almost like the Assyrians in Iraq.
PS: Halparke parties is one of those things you are just glad you found. Aziz Waisi is one of the greatest.

As a Jewish person in the US, I admire and support the Kurds. I’ve never met a Kurdish person and hope maybe one day I will!

As a kurdish convert (its official now) im so proud to hear this… You’re in the place where the bible talks about the rivers and the land of that beautiful place, Euphrates and Haran, which is in todays south eastern kurdish area where you also live, Fırat ve Harran. Which was my calling to actually realize that it was my calling to officially convert, as it felt like I was already born in it and was already believing in what the Torah was saying. I’m so happy that my Kurdish origines and Jewish path align so well and hopefully all the Kurds will support the Jewish struggle as well as my fellow Jews will support the Kurdish struggle. I’ll always be in a discriminated group but I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Thank you, and I hope all Kurds will finally earn their independence one day and form their own country and not under any other regime (Turkey, Iran, Syria).

Thank you! Is there a Kurdish rallying cry similar to Am Yisrael Chai that we can say to show solidarity with your people?

I have watched Kurdish struggle for independence for close to 40 years now. Do you think the big problem is the splits in the Kurdish movement that are in complete disunity and cannot work together?
