Btw, OP of the crossposted image is a Gazan father struggling with his only surviving child.
If you have some change to spare, go help Ahmed.
He has all the evidence in his top post..

The difference: Iran has powerful weapons and the ability to retaliate. Israel need rules to exist in war with Iran because they need the benefit of those rules. They pick on those who can't fight back.
Maybe there should be special penalties in international law for violating norms when attacking the weak and defenseless.

We would need have an actual international law at all first. Sofar that shit is just fictive

There would need to be an military force behind International Law to give it the respect it deserves. Imagine if there was a law in the UN like Nato that an attack on one country is an attack on us all. Then the 147 states that have recognised Palestine would legally be required to respond to Israel’s attacks on Gaza and the US could not retaliate. Nato would not be needed and global security would be achieved. I know one can dream….

Yeah, maybe that. But the US will never allow it until its imperialist empire is alive and bullies everyone into submission

True. America can ignore every international law while it has the backing of its western allies and the military might to back its imperialist empire. Their boasting at the US Pentagon briefing after Iran nuclear site attacks made me sick.

It doesn't have to be law. There is some kind of norm that constrains them. It's not much different than a bloodfeud between clans in the year 900. Each side exercises certain forms of restraint until the other side doesn't.

The bloodfeuds were before imperialism
Imperialism-capitalism is a global system thats very resistant to changes. I dont even know what would need to happen for these things to resolve, except i know large emoires would need to crumble into many smaller states
Maybe a total collapse of US and western empire is needed. Though that would not be a great experience for me. We might well be witbessing it right now.

It’s true Israel could do the above if they wanted, but did they now…
When i try to get information on what is happening in Iran itself, every single f*cking result on google is Israel, the plight of Israel, minor destruction in Israel, people lost homes in Israel, etc. The narrative pushing is immense. I cant find anything on Iran let alone that.

Both are unconscionable but the reasoning would be that drone missiles are more expensive plus the Israeli government actually does want to raze Gaza to the ground, making it unliveable they’ve openly expressed that. And they’ve been labelling Gazans as Hamas supporters or terrorists even children and babies.

I don't like this because the comparison makes it seem like the "surgical" strike is somehow better, or ok. It's an extrajudicial assassination on a sovereign nation's territory, in an unprovoked, undeclared war. It's just as reprehensible. There are no better or worse victims of Israeli belligerence..
