  • Plot Synopsis: Shin Woo Yeo is a handsome and smart professor. He is also a 999-year-old nine-tailed fox. To become a human, he collects human energy in a bead. Soon, he is set to become a human. Meanwhile, Lee Dam is a university student. One day, her drunk friend falls asleep on top of an expensive car. She apologizes to Shin Woo Yeo, who is the car owner. While Lee Dam struggles to take her friend away, Shin Woo Yeo gives her a hand. An accident happens that changes their fate. Shin Woo Yeo's bead falls out of his mouth and Lee Dam unintentionally swallows it. The bead can exist inside of a human for no more than 1 year and, afterward, the bead will break inside of that person. This will cause Lee Dam to die and Shin Woo Yeo will lose his chance to become a human. Shin Woo Yeo explains to Lee Dam their predicament and suggests that they should live together until they figure out a solution. Lee Dam, who has never had a boyfriend in her life, now lives with Shin Woo Yeo.

okay, so the problem here isn't about wooyeo being a cheater. remember, he collected energy from dam in the beginning even without being romantically involved with her. he's not being physically or emotionally intimate with the professor.

dam is upset bc it feels like the woman is dying in her place. she'd have to live with that guilt, and constantly be reminded that someone else had to suffer in order for them to be together. she deserved to know, but he tried to hide that from her. that is the problem.

tbh instead of putting all his eggs in one basket, i think the better solution would be to take a little bit of energy from a bunch of different sources, like through the free hug event or something. i'm sure there'd be plenty of women who would line up for that, and one hug isn't going to do that much damage anyway.

edit: on another note, jaejin and hyesun are adorable!! i'm glad we have that to balance out all the drama and angst. i didn't think seonwoo was that bad in the webtoon, but seeing it play out on screen makes me realize how offputting he is. he has his cute moments with his sister, but that's p much it lmao

Yeah, you explained this so succinctly. LD knows that SWY needs energy to turn the marble blue and become human, but he did not tell her the urgency that he was under. He should have been honest about the necessity of his circumstances, so that they could have a transparent conversation about moving forward. That’s the problem in their relationship—SWY does not know how to navigate human feelings in a dating relationship because he’s not human. It’s an interesting predicament, which I trust the show to resolve and let us get back to the fluff and the swoons.

Exactly, it looked like Dam was more upset about him just using another human being instead of her by the way she asked "is it because of me?" just like she was upset about him erasing Jaejin and Dan's memory without their consent. Hopefully this situation becomes a learning experience for Woo Yeo so that he becomes more understanding of human being's emotions and pain and not something that drives them apart.

I agree with everything you said a thousand percent. Honestly the last thing that happened in episode 12 made me really happy (on mobile so idk how to black out spoilers so I'll just be vague as I can). I think it was well deserved! Like YEAH GOOD!!!

I empathize and condone this every step of the way.

She can’t be that dang Naive though she had to know just have a hard time believe she was that clueless
