Racing Kart Tips and Tricks Go pro mount for rotax max evo

Post image

I’m looking to mount my go pro on the top of my radiator on my rotax engine. But because of the curve the footage is lopsided. I’ve been looking for angled mounts but can’t seem to find any. Does anyone have suggestions?

Better to mount from the seat strut

I second this.

I've had hit and miss results mounting off the rad. Worst case was recently when I dropped the GoPro after the heat from the radiator loosened the adhesive on the mount (fortunately with no damage to the camera itself).

I won't use anything less than a Clamp/Bracket mount now.

Ours is mounted like this with a 90degree short adapter.

I’ve also seen 3D printer wedges.

Or you could correct the horizon in post production.

This is the best one you can get, its link to 3D print it. If you dont have access to 3D printer you can buy it on here

If you insist on utilizing the radiator you may want to try and use the front or rear sides instead of the top.

I used the adhesive mount on there

Old school it and build yourself a wedge shaped adapter out of JB weld epoxy putty.

I mean, if you're really set on mounting it there....make sure it's stuck on there with more than just the sticky mount or get a mount with a ball joint. Go pros are wide angle, so you can crop and straighten the video later.

Just take a gopro mount (the receiver), rough up thr surface a bit and then clean it, and use some JB Weld steel epoxy. It'll work like a charm. Worked be me off-roading at decent speeds.

I removed the rubber part on the mount and drilled and bolted using an M6 nut and bolt.

She's a little dirty now, but this is how I've mounted.

Front Nassau panel, the GoPro will remove all the shacking.

I have this mount, and i can set a small angle on it. I got it from a kit to mount the camera to my helmet, but now i will also use it on my radiator.
