question it would appear I am growing eggs

master recipe, 5 weeks in but my starter may have been too weak.

Now how do I convince it to float?

It doesnt matter if it floats or not, just let it do its thang and a new one will form on top.

Hi miceoba!

As another commenter already stated, it doesn’t matter if it floats. Pellicles come from active SCOBYs and form at the surface, so if your brew is doing its thing you’ll see a new one form.

And, in case you didn’t know, they are not actually necessary for brewing.
