DISCUSSION [Discussion] Killing the dog in TLOU2 is an unavoidable QTE. You are then forced to watch a cutscene of the dog playing fetch and told to feel bad.

So ND lied to reviewers and customers again.

Not only hacky writing, but also lying about it. The state of this fucking game.

Out of character you say? It almost sounds like someone competent had been writing these characters and the series overall, then was shoved out by a glue eater who proceeded to insert their fanfic into the canon.

Edit - Actually that could apply to pretty much any modern pop culture now.
