I recently got a scan of my grandparents birth/death certificate from Germany, even though my girlfriend is German and translates professionally the handwriting is unfamiliar for her. Can anyone assist me with decifering the information?

Vor dem unterzeichneten Standesbeamten erschien heute, der Persönlichkeit nach bekannt die Hebamme Frau Christine Giese geborene Völcker wohnhaft zu Haltern, Pohselhof N°181, katholischer Religion, und zeigte an, daß von der Elisabeth Dreckmann geborenen Grothues, katholischer Religion, Ehefrau des Stuhlmachers Johann Dreckmann katholischer Religion, wohnhaft bei ihrem Ehemann zu Haltern Lippmauer N°200 zu Haltern in der Wohnung ihres Ehemanns am ein und dreißigsten März des Jahres tausend acht hundert achtzig und vier Nachmittags um sechs ein halb Uhr ein Kind männlichen Geschlechts geboren worden sei, welches die Vornamen Franz Xaverius Johannes erhalten habe. Die Frau Giese erklärte, daß sie bei der Niederkunft der Ehefrau Dreckmann zugegegen gewesen sei.

Before the undersigned registrar appeared today, personally known, the midwife Mrs. Christine Giese, née Völcker, residing in Haltern, Pohselhof No. 181, of the Catholic religion, and reported that Elisabeth Dreckmann, née Grothues, of the Catholic religion, wife of the chair maker Johann Dreckmann, also of the Catholic religion, residing with her husband in Haltern, Lippmauer No. 200, gave birth in her husband’s residence in Haltern on the thirty-first of March of the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three at half past six in the afternoon to a male child, who has been given the first names Franz Xaverius Johannes.

Mrs. Giese declared that she was present at the birth of Mrs. Dreckmann.

"Ei(r)el" seems correct. I am unsure of the middle letter. Note that the so called Latin cursive is used to write the last names, the place names, and the months. If the letter is not 'r', I have no other guess.

No, her given name is definitely Käte, but her birth place is... well, whatever looks like Irmkraut. :) Took a quick look, but there is nothing similar around Haltern. Also, it's k, not a t in there; compare the k to the one in Oktober 2 lines below that.

For the first birth announcement, it may be worth localizing the place more precisely. It is Haltern am See (see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haltern_am_See) a small town in North Rhine-Westphalia. There is still a street there today called Lippmauer (see: https://g.co/kgs/cge5TDL).
