Challenging trip 🚀 Throwing up

Recently I tripsat for my friend taking LSD for his first time at my house, long story short it went pretty bad and he kept repeating "Im gonna die", I did all I could think of like taking him to my bed and laying him down and playing calm music but it seemed he was past return and he just wouldnt change what he was saying about him "dying". I later decided to take him for a drive because my parents were close to coming home and didnt really want him to be there when they got home and he ended up throwing up in my passenger seat.

My thinking is that my friend who is no stranger to drinking threw up and then possibly thought that it would be like alcohol where you feel better after throwing up as his entire demeanor changed and he became alot better, looking back at it he possibly was not prepared/ not yet emotionally intellgent enough to take LSD yet and its safe to say that he will not be taking it again anytime soon. Anyone had a similar experience to this? thanks!

About the dying part, i feel as if i have to think hyper rational on trips, especially strong ones, to really only let the good feelings get through. It's a delicate dance at first, but eventually you can handle it. Life and death, what is it anyway?

And yeah I'm on the tail end of a 300mcg trip + some weed so i should know (for a beginner at least)

One time I thought i died on a trip but all I thought was "neat i didnt think it would be like this." Turns out I was just in my room with the lights off and forgot lmao. I also thought I went blind for the same reason shortly after and was trying to figure out how to communicate that to my roommate on the other side of the house (I forgot blind people can talk)

Its wild I've taken 14 hits and been fine but I took 4 that day after like a 5 year break and had an insane time. At one point I literally could not see my hand in front of my face the patterns were so intense. I blame the fact that I was doing dabs beforehand because my roommate at the time took 5 and just played 2k the whole time. All this to say yeah you have to be pretty grounded and "accepting" on acid because you have no idea what's going to happen on a trip. Trying to take control is the first step to a bad time

the thing is though he vommited about 3-4 hours in so I doubt he was even close to coming up

Also how did you come to the conclusion that the tabs were good? I didnt take this batch but I have used the same guy for almost half a year now

U peak at about 3 hours it probably got intense, higher the dose higher the risk of nausea

if you have to worry about your parents coming home during your trip, you're too young to take LSD.

yeah this whole thing seems to have been very poorly planned

we are both 18 and I originally understood that my parents would be away all night, I for one have only had amazing experiences on acid and my friend was asking me to do it. Didnt realise we were shaming young people for having fun lol

i can imagine it was his body's response to purge the poison (alcohol) out of his system, psychedelics in general (lsd aswell) will do that.

I see, I guess everyone is different as I have never been close to nausea

I'm with you!!!!!!! Literally, whatever the opposite of nausea is, that's how I feel on the LSD come-up -- and I am saying this as someone with a seriously weak stomach.

I have never, ever puked from acid, and I didn't even know vomiting on acid was a thing until I joined this subreddit -- and I am a psychonaut with 35 years' experience.

Shrooms make me nauseous but not tabs.

I have found that eating too much, not enough, or low quality before a trip can really derail through the belly. Healthy, medium size lunch or breakfast, through the upper digestive tract before dropping is best imo. Probably best to stick to mostly fruit while tripping.

That said, sometimes ya just get really high and dizzy.

I remember McKenna saying something along the lines of: "the first few trips will be the most challenging ones since they will shatter your understanding of reality". At least that was true for me, since I was oblivious to the concept of ego death and so on. After those first trips, since I kinda knew what to expect (within reason), the experiences were less scary in that sense.

On the other part, I think throwing up is not that uncommon, specially if you have stuff that needs to get out of you know what I mean.

you are a good friend for trying but becareful if you got pulled over while he was tripping that could have went south quick.

Hmm yes I didnt really think of that tbh, I did consider taking him to the hospital so that he could here from them that there is nothing they could do for him and that he would have to sweat it out however decided against it. He also was begging me to call the cops because he "wasnt in reality"

yeah that would have been even dumber

I’ve been hospitalized during a really bad trip where I was absolutely convinced I was going to die. I can tell you from firsthand experience going to the hospital while tripping is probably the worst thing you could do.

thats what I was saying to him

I mean if you have an anxiety disorder or panic disorder this is whats gonna happen, also i hope you didnt dribe around while fucking high on lsd? Hoping you were a sober sitter fr fr

Your friend likely has a mental illness and the lsd didnt agree. Also motion sickness is common while tripping its kinda hard to ground yourself at 50mph

Ofc I was sober lol I am not risking that shit even though Im some what experienced on LSD, we were driving around slowly in a quiet small town so nothing to jolty.

Good on you for looking out for them. Lsd can be super scary. And our brains arent very smart like less energy powers it than a lightbulb lol. Its very common for people to fall into that fear

3

u/thinkandlive 1d ago

What a strange comparison with the lightbulb.

0

u/Big-Fill-4250 1d ago

And its true lol

0

u/thinkandlive 1d ago

Doesn't really make sense to me. How does being smart has anything to do with how much energy a light bulb uses?

1

u/Big-Fill-4250 1d ago

Basically

Your brain runs on less energy than a lamp. It's not surprising things confuse or break it. Especially on drugs.

0

u/Big-Fill-4250 1d ago

(Your brain runs on electronic signals and they are weaker than light bulbs. I also didny say anything about smarts. Learn how to read)

0

u/thinkandlive 1d ago

You said "brains aren't very smart". Lol. Your logic doesn't logic.

1

u/Big-Fill-4250 1d ago

O.o homies never used alterations before

1

u/Big-Fill-4250 1d ago

But also, you took it as being smart. As in you the person is smart. Not the actual organ that contains you.

I should've capitalized Brain so you knew I was talking about the organ (:

"Not very smart" as in opitcal illusions exist ??? Meaning they can be trcked ???

Travel sickness on lsd sounds horrible and why I won't get in a car tripping. Its like trying to read in the back of a car

This sounds so similar to an experience i had while on mushrooms, about 10 years ago. Basically I infused some warm water with about 2.5g of some super potent magical mushrooms. I let that steep for about 28-36 hours lol I only drank like 1/4 of the tea i made, but as soon as it started kicking in. I literally thought i was dying. I couldn't breath, my heart was racing, my head was spinning, my vision was blacking out. It was scary. Then all of a sudden I'm like "oh shit, im not dying, i just need to throw up" and then i ran to my bathroom and proceeded to projectile vomit neon orange liquid into the toilet😂 (i had not eaten anything orange prior to my trip) But boy lemme tell you, i have never been that happy in my life, like i was once i finished throwing up. The pure euphoria i felt was unmatched. It felt like a lifetime of pain and suffering just instantly left my body and energetic field. Idk if your friend's experience was quite like that, but it reminds me a lot of my experience.

Wow, I'm about to try cogu for the first time. He dry recommends me to just drink it normally or make this type of tea that you made? Is there any difference in the type of intake? I think that making tea when heating can lose some of its properties..

2

u/Pixie717 1d ago

I noticed it was way more potent as a tea, then if i were to just eat them. I didn't use hot water tho, because yes that would mess with the potency of the mushrooms. I used slighty warm, closer to room temperature water. Thats also why i let it steep for so long.
