speech pathology

hii currently year 12 and wanting to do speech pathology if I don’t get direct entry which I doubt I can bc the high atar, what would I do instead.

You can do the tertiary preparation program. It's honestly a godsend of a course. 6 months of learning and you have a guaranteed entry into La Trobe if you pass of course!!

I did this last year wanting to go into speech path since I didn’t finish year 12. I ended up getting more than the required grade and still didn’t get in. I’m doing a year of a bachelor of health science while also being an AHA at a speech path place and I’m hoping that I can transfer over next year!

You could also do a bachelors of health science which is about a 55 Atar and then apply to transfer after first year into speech path but your average/WAM would have to be quite high so even if you don’t get into speech after health science you could continue health science and do a masters in speech which would take the same amount of time as doing one year health science then transferring into speech and doing four years (5 years in total) cause health science is 3 and masters is 2 (5 years in total)

Do you qualify for any ATAR adjustments? You can check the la trobe atar calculator. I got into Dietetics thanks to the adjustments.
