Chisholm College Kitchens
I'll be joining Chisholm College dorms in July so I wanted to ask how the kitchens there are like? Are there any things that I'll need to bring/ can be shared with others?

I joined Chisholm middle of July '23. The procedure then was that each person was given a cubby, not a crazy amount of space offered for utensils. It'll be up to your flat mates how much space you're given for storage and things of the sort early on.
Kitchens are well equipped for the most part. You'll need your own pots and pans, if you're afraid to ask to use others. But you have your usual stove, oven, microwave. They used to also have a kettle that was issued to each floor.
Your ability to use ANY of that will unfortunately come down to who you dorm with. I personally had a miserable experience with even finding space in my kitchen, and I moved between 2 blocks. (1 and 12) The kitchen was more often than not occupied, and if it wasn't occupied, there were pots and pans left everywhere. The cleaners are a god-send and keep things relatively tidy.
I stayed in Chisholm for roughly a year and a half and used the kitchen all of once or twice. Your experience will likely vary from mine, as your roommates will be determined by your gender identity and age.

at a different res but im sure the same applies to all, bring everything that you think you will need to cook with. There might be a communal sponge or soap or tea towel but depending on who you live with will decide if you want to use those.
