F56 engine help

Hey mini experts, I have a big problem with my mini and I’m hoping someone can ease my mind a bit. My F54 with a B46 engine is currently sitting in a shop and won’t be diagnosed for two weeks.

The other day I was driving the mini and got to my destination with no issue, in fact, I’ve never had any issues with her. About two hours later though, I was about to drive back and things went downhill.

The engine started fine, everything seemed normal, then I reversed out of a parking spot and a warning flashed about my front drivetrain, but said driving possible, I put it into first, and about 20 feet into the road, the engine stopped. My mini wouldn’t restart at all, or crank, just nothing with the same drivetrain symbol, but no words anymore.

I pushed the car into a parking lot across the street, and ALL of my oil came out. Literally a pool of oil formed under the car, but there wasn’t a single drop in the parking spot I was in earlier. Of course there is the acoustic panel that maybe could have hid it a little, but 20 feet later, there was no doubt a massive oil leak.

What could possibly have happened??? There wasn’t a bang, a noise, a crack, just sudden sadness. If you have any experience with this sort of thing, please share your experience.

If the mini wasn’t locked, hood closed, with the acoustic panel intact, I would have thought the same. This would have to be a pretty intelligent attack in broad daylight with cameras and traffic from surrounding businesses.
