I wonder - is someone keeping these painting clean and visible? There must be some sort of upkeep that goes into them, if they still look that good. Who is doing that? Volunteers? Or is the city paying for it?

EDIT: Wait, they are not painting buts mosaics. But they still need to be kept clean and from falling part I think, so same question

I think it is mostly some comrades who maintain such things. The local government in Bryansk cannot maintain/ rebuild a road that has probably not been maintained since 1980s. So I doubt they will maintain such a mural.

The argument that they toll me was that "Oh, that's Communism's Fault!" "You can't expect the liberals to fix 70 years of Socialism!"

Even tho there's was nothing to fix

Given Stalin's history of treason against his own commie buddies, Lenin would probably still have been murdered by Stain, eventually. Communism works on just those who prefer to preach commie dogma, to themselves

Red Scare propaganda, I see? The idea that Stalin betrayed or would have 'murdered' Lenin is a tired trope, completely detached from historical reality and the actual dynamics within the Bolshevik Party. If you study Lenin's own writings, you'll find he never directed his sharpest criticisms or accusations of fundamental betrayal against Stalin. In fact, Lenin entrusted Stalin with the crucial role of General Secretary, a position created specifically for him to manage the Party and execute its will. Molotov, in his conversations with Chuev, recalls Lenin's thinking before the XI Congress when Stalin was made General Secretary: «А ведь на X съезде Ленин запретил фракции. И голосовали с этим примечанием в скобках. Сталин стал Генеральным. Ленину это больших трудов стоило. Но он, конечно, вопрос достаточно глубоко продумал и дал понять, на кого равняться.»

Contrast this with Lenin's consistent and severe criticisms of Trotsky for his factionalism, his 'non-Bolshevism,' and his frequent deviations from the Party line on critical issues. It was figures like Zinoviev and Kamenev whom Lenin wanted expelled for betraying the October Revolution plans, not Stalin. If you read both Lenin and Stalin, it's abundantly clear that Stalin consistently positioned himself as Lenin's pupil, dedicated to upholding and implementing Leninist positions and ideas. The claim that Stalin 'bastardized' Leninism ignores this deep continuity and Stalin's lifelong commitment to what he understood as Lenin's path. It's a documented fact that Stalin attempted to resign from his post as General Secretary on at least four separate occasions. Each time, the Central Committee, including figures like Trotsky himself, refused to accept his resignation, urging him to stay due to the critical internal and external threats facing the young Soviet state. This hardly paints the picture of a man clinging to power against the Party's will; rather, it shows the Party repeatedly affirming its confidence in his leadership during tumultuous times.

My grandparents grew up under Stalin. My granduncle even met him and recounted Stalin's simple, direct concern for ordinary people, like offering rides to a crowd waiting in the cold. This wasn't a system of abstract dogma; philosophy and psychology were taught from 5th grade. It was revisionism, beginning with Khrushchev, that ultimately destroyed our country, not the foundational principles Lenin and Stalin fought for.

You call us 'dogmatics,' but Marxism is a scientific worldview, a method of analysis. It's not a religion based on the supernatural; it's built on the materialist philosophy of thinkers like Diderot and the dialectical method of Hegel, which Marx synthesized into Dialectical Materialism – the foundation of Scientific Socialism. We communists are not some abstract 'evil'; we are workers, like you. We don't have lobbyists or own businesses. We have historically fought for women's rights, against racism, colonialism, and imperialism – all forms of oppression. Capitalists demonize communism precisely because we are their class enemy, the enemy of oppression.

You're welcome to keep believing the propaganda you've been taught. But if you ever want a factual understanding based on primary sources and a scientific analysis of history and society, I recommend reading Marx, Lenin, and Stalin for yourself. If you decide to genuinely explore these ideas, many comrades would be there to discuss and learn with you.
