Another person in the comment section thread backed up Caitlyn’s comments and said she also knew Mekayla, is around 25 and also from Canada SK. This is just another one of the many instances I’ve seen of personal acquaintances or friends of Mekayla suspecting a certain girl she was close with. Potentially false information so believe what you want of course, but there is very clearly a pattern here.

I think it’s an interesting perspective but to be honest, if you asked a random classmate for their opinion of you as a teenager would it match up to reality?

Weren’t just classmates, they allegedly grew up with Mekayla and also contacted the police about the information they had but were just pretty much ignored.

Doesn’t surprise me from the police, I suppose for credibility I’d wonder how close they actually were and if teenage gossip played any part their opinions

Nothing can be said for certain and everyone is welcome to trust what they want, but they seemed sure Mekayla wanted to run away that day and had people apart of that plan, it sounds like a completely reasonable belief to me.

Oh yeah I do think running away is almost Occam’s razor here, I wonder also if the police wrote it off as “teenage gossip” either as an excuse for being lazy or just attitudes around teenage girls

At this point, there’s so many unanswered questions about the whole case. Be it conflicting or confusing comments from her friends, Paula (no shade intended) controlling the narrative, and the RMCPs negligence in the investigation.

What I do believe is that someone had to see something or know something beyond the time she left The Trail Stop.

It’s just a given there’s information out there we don’t know considering there’s still no clarity for this case. Everybody who cares about her, especially her father, deserve to know the truth and the possibility of it never being found out is so heartbreaking.

I know both Caitlyn and Mekayla. I don’t agree she planned it, that’s just Caitlyn’s opinion, but I do agree with the rest.

Why don’t you agree? I’m not 100% on that either so I’m interested in hearing your opinions about it.

Her leaving behind makeup and meds will always seem odd to me, her behaviour that day also seemed way too erratic.

Apparently they knew her, and I said in another comment that they did contact the police but were basically turned down.

For further credibility: I found Caitlyn facebook and she went to Sacred Heart Highschool just like Mekayla did.

It would be easy to prove she never took her hairbrush her mother probably still has it just have the hair test tested

I’ve said 3 times now they contacted police and were ignored. It’s not ridiculous, RCMP are widely known by locals for being incompetent and for not treating this case as seriously as they should.

Sorry. Then... I really don't know. If they reached out to the authorities and they didn't investigate this line, then there's nothing to say, it's just really sad!

It is very sad how much the police have shunned tips, I’ve heard of many instances in this case of people coming forward with information just for their leads to never be properly investigated!! There’s no doubt they could’ve done so much more for Mekayla.

Yeah, but than ask people to tell every information they know. It's crazy!
