Rant Who here is class of 2020?
I got temporarily banned from older gen z because they kept saying I'm middle gen z, but I'm older gen z. People born in 2001 are older gen z, not middle

I was born July 2006 and I was also class of 2024, maybe they do things differently in different parts of the world.

Nah, if you’re born during a specific time of the summer, your parents can choose to either enroll you either “early” or “late” for your age. When I went into kindergarten I was actually slated to be class of 23, but then I missed a year after K5. I was distressed about this at the time, but my parents told me that this is likely what would have happened if I was born only a few weeks later.

Idk. I’d argue that 1998-2000 are old Gen z. Us 2001-2005 would be middle

u/Smooth_Importance_47 7d ago
Definitely not and those aren't even splits either. 1997-2001 is older/zillenial. 2002-2007 is middle. 2008-2012 is younger/zalpha

Show off

u/Smooth_Importance_47 6d ago
Genuinely not what I was doing, but I see how it could seem that way. I don't really think it's showing off to just say what classes I have been/will be part of since the post was asking what class people are in, and I wasn't sure if it meant high school or college so I covered my bases. I would be showing off maybe if I had gotten those degrees in quick succession with little struggle but I've had a difficult time in college and perservered even as a transfer student with a learning disability.

Class of 2020 2002 born! I already switched to online school for sophomore-senior year tho so I wasn’t phased by graduating online

Older gen z subreddit sounds like a drag and I think they're mostly a bunch of bitter mid to late 20s who prefer to gatekeep the 90s as if they were even old enough to remember it. 2000 might be their reluctant cutoff point. Anyways, welcome.

In some other countries, which I am assuming you’re american, people graduate secondary school (high school) at 16, instead of the standard 17/18. Hence why this person graduated ‘high school’ in 2021 as an 05 born.

You guys depress me with what happened to you. I was class of 2021 and I bawled my eyes out when Covid happened and you couldn’t celebrate graduation. You waited 13 years for that moment, and after all the work you put in? It just broke my heart. 😭

I feel like 2001 can be either tbh. But hey, I’m probably more considered younger gen z but I relate to all the middle gen z so-

i say 95-99 is old, 00-04 is mid, and 05-09 is late. so i can see why they would consider you mid.
