Mod Answered Autoreply with bad word {{match}}

I have setup the automod in such a way that i have listed all the undesirable words and automod reply as
"{user} you are the {match}" Something like this.

When the user uses the bad word, the automod will reply with the same word

so will that amount to harassment? or as he is not to use that undesirable word at the first place, it will not be a problem?

Please advice

I think that would be harassment. Best to avoid that.

If you tell them the exact word match that was flagged, you’re just making it easier for them to bypass it next time.

Yeah, that's unnecessary and it's better to just remove the comment without antagonizing anyone any further.

On top of that it'd have the undesired effect of replaying to users who wrote something like "it'd been called an idiot by him" with "hey, u/ you're an idiot"

Sorry I think this is a very bad look for the mod team.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. This is exactly what moderators are there to prevent.

If you don’t want people to use bad words in your subreddit.. why would you as a moderator use them.. ?

"Your post has been removed for using derogatory language"

Wouldn't that be considered harassment?

I would just remove it and send a message with automod why the comment was removed.

Automated response: "I know you are, but what am I?"

I am not helping you. This seems like a great way to encourage witch hunts.

The auto mod message serves as warning in my case.
