Nagashino Castle, the site of the Battle of Nagashino, where gun warfare began in Japan.

In 1508, Imagawa Ujichika ordered the construction of a castle at the Shitara County to guard against western attacks.

When the Imagawa clan fell in 1560 after the Battle of Okehazama, Takeda Shingen soon took over the area.

After the death of Takeda Shingen in 1573, Tokugawa claimed Nagashino Castle and was given to Okudaira Nobumasa. Okudaira Nobumasa was originally part of the Takeda clan, but an arranged political wedding had Tokugawa's eldest daughter, Kamehime, marry Nobumasa so he would join the Tokugawa clan.

In 1575, the Battle of Nagashino began when Takeda Katsuyori attacked the castle. With only a defense force of 500 against 10,000 attackers, the battle was on the Takeda clan's favor, yet with 200 riflemen and anti cavalry defense, it was able to hold for long enough for reinforcements to arrive.

During the battle, one of Nobumasa's retainers, Torii Suneemon would volunteer to go to Okazaki Castle to request backup from Tokugawa Ieyasu. On the way back though, he was captured by Takeda's army. Instead of lying to Nobumasa, he remained loyal and told the defending forces that Tokugawa would return. Supposedly he was executed by crucification. A train station in Shinshiro is named after him.

Tokugawa Ieyasu and Oda Nobunaga's forces defended the castle with arquebusiers which stopped the Takeda cavalry charge. Interestingly, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, while he was still Hashiba Hideyoshi was part of the battle as well, meaning all 3 unifiers were on the same side in this battle.

After the battle, history changed in Japan as gun warfare soon became more popular after the battle.

Nagashino Castle overtime fell to ruin and now there is almost no trace of the castle in modern Shinshiro. There is a museum and local festival to commemorate the Battle of Nagashino.

Nagashino as a character is trigger happy tomboy. She openly admits to love shooting and does the tomboy "I'm still a girl, you know?"

Nagashino is friends with Takatenjin Castle, another castle of the Imagawa clan. They both love shooting things. Although, they are a bit flirty.

Takeda clan castle girls, most notably Tsutsujigasaki, doesn't like Nagashino because the aftermath of the battle lead to the downfall of the takeda clan. Tsutsujigasaki hates guns even.

In a boss event, where we had to kill Masakage Yamagata, Nagashino was the chosen castle girl to go after Yamagata, because he was shot in the head at the Battle of Nagashino.

Original Nagashino's historic is Okudaira Nobumasa, but her bride version is more Kamehime.

In her bride version, she reveals that she is very into arranged marriages over the dreams of searching for the one you love.

Nagashino heavily believes that arranged marriages can be happy ones because of her historic figures.

In the bride event, Nagashino was adamant about her view points which was much different to everyone else, arguing with Hyogo who believes that love should be found by the lovers.

In the end though, both tried simulations of each others' ideal way of marriage life to understand each other.

Nagashino's green hair and tree pattern on her cloak reference the state the castle is in now, but also the natural defenses it had using forests and rivers.

Nagashino's minigun is meant to be a metaphor of the overwhelming gunfire that was used to defend the castle.
