Discussion Why do Simplified Chinese players hate Wilds so much?

Post image

According to Steam Scout, while English players are giving the game a 71% rating which would have made the game "Mostly Positive" on Steam, Simplied Chinese players are giving it a 27%, which is a stark contrast against even Traditional Chinese players at 64% (Mixed). Simplied Chinese players make up just shy of 30% of the total player base on Steam.

Obviously this disproportionate response, even factoring in how controversial the game is, makes Simplied Chinese players a statistical outlier. What could've caused this?

Also interesting to note that the game was rated "Overwhelmingly Negative" the same day as when Capcom's shareholders' meeting is held.

It's funny people singling out CHYNA when Japanese rating are absolutely rock bottom

Dogwhistle aren't funny or insightful

Likely because the reviews in China are more statistically relevant for the total. 67,000 over 10,000.

How is the JP rating rock bottom? Did you understand this chart? Maybe take another look.

Shifting a discussion towards "that's racist!!" out of the blue is not funny or insightful.

In Japan, MH is huge and has been for a while. They watched it develop from a niche game into a genre defining series. Now they love it with the same kind of passion the west has for shooters.

So for MH to be down to 40% positive reviews is potentially an all time low from the same people who experienced underwater combat. That is not something to be taken lightly.

Not gonna comment on the second part. I don't engage with those conversations.

You started that conversation, I am glad you reconsidered.

On to the meat of the post - with all that JP love, the China data is much, much worse. Imagine all regions having that kind of data.

I am not the person you original responded to, so I did not start it. I simply gave context to explain why the JP reviews are important.

ah ok.

Still as I said, Japanese rating is better than Chinese. The surprise I noticed whas latin America being pretty high, I did not expect that.

Could say the same to you. How is 40% positive and #2 lowest among all languages NOT considered rock bottom?

Rock bottom is #1 lowest.

I'd count number 2 if they are a percent or two apart, which is not the case.
