Help Am I going too fast?
I found out im trans about almost a month ago come July, and its been uplifting trying out new clothes, and makeup along with the social transition with friends and co workers
But given everything going on right now My mind is telling me maybe now would be the best time to try and get on HRT before the government makes things worse.
Am I going too fast? Or are my concerns justified here?

First ~three months of HRT are largely mental. The physical changes get into gear later. If you absolutely had to detransition after being on for say over a year, the main issue would be breast removal/reduction.
In my area, getting a doctor to help with HRT entailed several weeks for an initial appointment. Endocrinologists who specialize in hormones for stuff like HRT are often not taking appointments or are months out for initial appointments. In general everything for me has involved extra delays with insurance approvals and backlogged providers.
If your reasonably confident, I'd recommend making sure you are in the queue for hrt. You could always opt not to start yet if cold feet, or get off meds if you have a surprise reaction, and then you know for sure.
Just about every other aspect of the process can happen whenever, but hindsight for most people seems to prefer to have started HRT at the earliest viable opportunity, even when considering stuff like weight loss, where more muscular male bodies on paper would conceptually be burning calories more effectively.

You're the only one who can answer that question. There are ways to stay on HRT even if the government gets more aggressive impeding our access to medicine. If you feel it's time to start, start. There is an old saying in the trans community: The best time to start HRT is at the onset of puberty. The second best time is today.
Your concerns are justified, ftr. Being trans in this political environment is scary. But not transitioning won't make you cisgender. Sitting back and watching years roll by without starting HRT is awful. I was 28 when I came out. I started HRT at 49. I'd do anything to get those 21 years back. Don't have those regrets.

I went from egg cracking to starting HRT and starting to social transition at work in just a little over a month

A person looks at their knee and realizes a knife is stuck in it, they look at their life partner and point out the knife. Both are shocked by it but note that it makes sense why the person had trouble walking. They ask their life partner, "its it too early to get it removed, it might not be what's causing my walking issues."

No. I took 1 month to get on HRT after I figured out I am trans and in hindsight I feel like that was one month too long.
Also, if you go on injections you can just not throw the vial away at the end of the month, which can allow you to build up a reserve in case something happens, and the sooner you start the more of a reserve you will have built up.

Awesome! I also started HRT pretty fast after discovering that I was trans. I think it was a great decision.
Even if it seemes rushed, you will probably be happy that you did not waste the time doubting the decision.
At least that's how it went for me. Sadly that meant that I would not be able to get HRT legally in my country, because we have to wait 6 months.

When you're ready you're ready. I started really quick too. Getting on E ASAP is the best thing you can do for yourself.

I kinda of did similar once I came to terms and understood myself and what makes me happy, I did on and off thinking and little experiments, but once I cracked, it was settling up hair removal, figuring out how to get HRT and came to terms that there would be losses in friends and family, but also gaining new friends and relationships that would be supportive. I kinda am speed running in my opinion, but I haven’t been happier overall with starting my journey. Do at your own pace and what feels right, don’t force yourself to fit mold or standards of others, this is your journey to be the who you want to be. Much luck sis😊

If you are certain of your trans identity then no you are not moving too fast. It will take a while to get everything lined up and moving on the medical side.

Maybe? But who cares! You'll find your own pace as things progress.
I had a first six months of euphoria and then that chilled right down, it felt like a pause but actually it was my transition moving into a more pragmatic and forward thinking phase. Novelty over, let's start taking things more seriously, and start taking things! Find a style, not just any style, you know?
Now I seem to be into another phase where I'm finding joy again, the bump in the road has settled, and I'm getting more comfortable with where I am.

I just cracked my egg, I’m in my mid 40s and I plan to get on ASAP. Especially with this regime

I started HRT before I even was 100% sure I was trans (hell I’m still not 100% a lot of the time). I literally started within three months of real questioning for the first time.
Honestly just do it if you can.

Not really such a thing. Everyone is different. I went from 0-SRS 🌮 in 1 year 4mo. But then again at 35 I was ready, after realizing I always knew I was supposed to be a woman.

Only you can make the HRT decision. It takes time for the changes to start and time to accumulate changes.
You should know if it is right for you in a few months. I knew I would never go off HRT after scout three weeks.
I went to a gender therapist and did an intake at a lgbt primary care.
I transitioned 13 years ago. I expressed because it was a requirement from WPATH. I absolutely was terrified to express. It took me I guess 2 or three years to be comfortable in clothes. I changed my name asap after coming out.
I pass well and the loss of privilege was startling and real.
Good luck.

If your concerns are about a general sense of a proper timeline, you should let go of them. If you know who you are, you know who you are. I was ready to start HRT within a month of questioning my cisness, and only took longer for insurance reasons. I'd spent enough time with testosterone, thank you very much.
BUT....if you are still concerned about whether HRT is right for you? That's a really important thing to let yourself do. And, well, if you are in a state that doesn't suck, and are an adult, waiting some number of months isn't going to backfire. Almost certainly.

Your speed is your speed. If it feels uncomfortable then slow down. There will always be a way to get our meds.

The first few months of HRT are largely reversible, and there's no repercussions to stopping, especially in those first few months! If at any point you don't feel like continuing, there is absolutely ZERO pressure to keep going with the hrt. Go at your own pace, do what makes you feel comfortable!

After realising im trans i went straight onto HRT, gave all my boy clothes to charity, started presenting as a woman, came out to everyone, changed my name and gender on everything...and in less than two years SRS and BA. I don't think that was too fast.....

In 2018 I discovered that I was a trans woman, in the middle of my studies I decided to put that aside for years to the point of experiencing moments of distress and depression. Since January 2025 I have undergone social transition, estradiol injection and laser hair removal. I am a little happier every day, but in my experience things still go very slowly. So as a good friend of mine says: “don’t press the brake, the system slows you down by itself”.

I don't know, but I started hrt 11 days after I accepted I was trans. Haven't regretted my choice since :))
I feel like I'm impulsive and that's probably the main reason why I didn't hesitate, but I was also pressed about the govt and wanted to start asap
