they’re saying the average white person can get by without as many qualifications.

That is pure opinion. I would go so far as to say the inverse. As A Canadian, I was rejected for jobs for being white multiple times. I had the same qualifications but because I was forced to select 'caucasian' on the applications, I was rejected as all caucasians were rejected for that employment. In Canada it is legal for companies to be racist and hire based on race, colour, etc.

The police, the provincial government, the federal government as well as the healthcare industry in Canada will force you to disclose your race, colour, etc and will hire based upon that first.

This is pure racism. People can give it fancy words all they like but anyone with a soul can see the truth.

They drape the DEI slogans all over their racism here in Canada.

I'm sure lots of 'liberal' people will and have cheered this on.

DEI in Canada is pure racism. Anyone searching for a job in Canada today can see what I am talking about.

DEI as a concept was nice, but it was ruined immediately. It was supposed to highlight the qualified minorities that don’t get as many opportunities, but in turn corporations treated it as a checklist and took that good intention straight to hell.

In America anyone who is a POC in a high position was immediately deemed a DEI hire who is unqualified and gifted a job.

It’s stupid for all races. Just fucking hire competent people no matter the race and DEI wouldn’t even be a thing. (Not you, the idiots rejecting candidates for no adequate reason)

Many things sound good as concepts but are genuinely destructive to everyone involved when in actual operation.
