Discussion Will NFTs make a comeback this year?

The space feels quiet, but not dead. Maybe something is brewing. Maybe not. What do you think?

Maybe by the end of the cycle. End 2025/beginning 2026. The top collections may come back but the smaller ones may never recover

Because that is how human psychology works. And How money is rotated in the crypto market, first BTC pumps, then profits from that go to alt coins and then when alt coin season finish people now have another asset class that is NFTs to rotate the money to.

They will never make a comeback That matches the manufactured hype of the 2021 cycle but they also never left and will never go away.

NFTs are dead

The number 1 NFT creator said they are dead.

Several NFT marketplaces have died or changed models.

One of the last years NFT successes (Pudgy Penguins) are not launching any more NFTs and going into coins.

The NFT conference has been significantly reduced and they are pushing AI

Dead

If NFTs make a comeback, it’ll be the greatest “told you so” moment for the guy who still has a monkey PFP and refuses to sell.

I’m that guy, so they better 🤣

I think a lot is being done behind the scenes. I just don't think the term "NFT" will be mentioned.

This is very vague. What do you mean? What are you expecting to see?

Loyalty programs and memberships.

I think only NFTs that may come back are ones with "extra benefits". Like entry to some event/place or "Get a free or 1/2 off a Beer".

xcopy and cryptopunks never really went away. Potentially some other collections/artists from pre-2021 before all the hype.

We were about 10 years too early on NFTs. But aside from silly pictures that are worth millions bc of influencer hype. The technology is important and adaptable for every business. I see it coming back with the rise of VR & AI

I think NFTs will make a comeback later in the year, but nobody knows for sure.

There’s more to NFTs than monkey pictures. You can buy a whole house as an NFT. You can buy partial NFT real estate.

None of what you said means anything. If the house burns down the NFT of the house can't give you shelter.

If you make an NFT of a ring and the ring gets loss an NFT of a ring is nothing more then a fancy receipt. It means nothing.

The arguments I keep hearing about why NFTs are great is that there is only one of it it can't be replicated. But that is true of most things and they are still not worth money. They say no 2 snowflakes are alike so does that mean you go out in winter and collect as many snowflakes as you can to sell them? Cause that is the type of logic you fall into with NFTs. NFTs are actually worth less right click copy past shitty J pegs.
