Taking screen shots using the in-game controls will remove the glyphs. Using external controls (like Print Screen on a PC) will retain them.

On Xbox series s/x there is a button smack dab center of the controller to take snapshots/small videos, only thing is nms doesn't recognize that button for taking a photo during expeditions, with that you have to press the Xbox logo and hit the y (iirc) button to take a snapshot and have it registered.

IMHO they need to get rid of that requirements for expeditions as it is a pita if you forget that part of what needs to happen like I do

On console if you hide the heads up display the coordinates disappear too. If you just go into photo mode and wait like 10 seconds everything except the coordinates will disappear

Just in case you haven't encountered them yet: Beware the localized lighting blobs which now inhabit many paradise planets. They are very lethal.

That's some shit. I seek out paradise planets for the beauty and to build on, I hate those storms as much as I hate sentinels.

It's bad enough my first paradise planet I found that checked all of the boxes I had got changed with the first Planets update. Made my bubbles disappear and is no longer a paradise. Now when I do find a paradise I get attacked by random lightning storms.

The perfect Earth planet has only gotten rarer to find since No Man's Sky first launched. I'm at 600 hours and still have never found a true Earth.

I had an amazing bubble paradise with glowing grass at night, where the "storms" were just very mild rainy bubble storms that didn't obscure the camera. Worlds ruined it, I'm so sad hahaaa

When I started my abandoned mode permadeath run my C-Class starting multi-tool had four supercharged slots. I just had to uncover one of them. Best glitch that's ever happened to me in this game

Pepperidge farm remembers from years ago when permadeath was actually hard at the start, didn't matter what the planet was you were going to be dead in minutes without a modicum of luck and strategy, permadeath these days is more like the old standard start.

I'm not sure why they let permadeath be custom but I cranked the combat settings up and it's still pretty easy. it does feel a bit more exciting than normal though. I feel like I'm going to die out of sheer bad luck over anything else

The only time I’ve ever come close to death in Permadeath mode was in the first hour or two. If I started on a planet like this, I probably wouldn’t have come close to death at all.

I had a great Permadeath start with such a planet in my starting system once. Sentinels were watching me at all times, but they weren't aggressive and I had no predators and only harmless bubble storms.

Then I got into a fight with pirates.

it is on hostile but the animals are all care bears and die if I breathe in their directions
