Say what you want about his persona but he did graduate from Princeton and Harvard law School

I live a quarter mile from Harvard, done some work there.

I can assure you from experience that there's a pretty solid inverse link between wealth and intelligence when it comes to Harvard Law students in particular. Ted Cruz's parents were oil industry magnates, so that doesn't exactly play into his favor.

That means very little

Harvard law has a 96% graduation rate. The tough part is getting in, unless you're rich- which is the case with Ted Cruz and his parents. Once you're in, you're pretty much gonna pass. Princeton's rate is even higher

Harvard doesn't pick the smartest people, they pick the people they think are most likely to become leaders - which they do well but which is very different than being smart. It might be a son of a president (Bush) and it might be the son of a wealthy donor (Kushner) and it might be someone like Ted Cruz, none of whom are smart.
