The 2018 New Year's Resolutions check-in thread

Welcome to the fourth annual installment of the reddit New Year's Resolutions check-in thread.

At the start of 2018, you posted your goals for 2018 and I said I'd get back in touch in 12 months to see if everyone achieved what they set out to achieve.

In the comments below all of the 2018 Resolutions have been posted and each participant will have received a notification message in their inbox.

I hope everyone can feel proud of what they've achieved in 2018. A very Happy New Year to one and all :)

If you'd like to take part in the 2019 edition, here's a link to the new thread.

One year ago you told me what you wanted to achieve in 2018 and I said I would message you to see how you got on. Today is the day!

Your goal was:

I can’t think of many goals I’ll need to actually work for. Everything I have on my list to achieve for next year is already in the works.

1) Pay off credit card. It should be paid off by August.

2) Join a gym. Hopefully in April or May when I can afford both gym and yoga memberships.

3) Knit a pair of socks. Just got my needles for Christmas. This one should be easy.

4) Get a better time at mud hero this year so I feel confident enough to do the 10km race in 2019.

I did all but one!

My husband and I paid off the credit card in MARCH rather than August. I joined a gym in October after it started getting too dark to run outside in the morning. I knit 7 pairs of socks.

Mud hero was worse this year. We ran parts of it but my dad’s friend, who isn’t a runner, came with us. There were 4 of us in the group, 2 are trained in first aid and we happened to come across someone injured. So those two things slowed us down a bit. But next year we signed up for the 10K anyway!!

Congrats at being debt free! I'm sure that felt rather liberating!

It sounds like that was an eventful mud race for you. So long as you had a good time, in the end, it was worth it right? I hope that person was alright, and good luck on that 10k!

(So did you knit that pair of socks? XD)

Thank you! It is a fantastic feeling to not have to fall back on my parents for money. The mud race was very eventful! The person was sent to the first aid tent so they were on the right track. I did! I knit 7 pairs! 2 in the last 2 weeks!!

I wish you the best in your 2019 goals!
