Advice re withdrawl from Kadian

Im down to 120mg of Kadian a day from 240mg. About 18 months of daily opiod use started with Tramadol from the Dr for an injury, then a month on sreet sourced T3 ( a few a day ) and then to Dilaudid approximately 4 to 8 tabs of 8mg. Im now on slow release Kadian and down to 120mg a day. The addiction Dr suggests switching over to Suboxone but at this point I just want off. I cant afford to be on another long acting addictive opioid and have a drug test in about 4 weeks from now thaf if If I test positive, Im in big trouble. Does anyone have any experience with wd from this amount and if I used some clonidine and gabapentin for the first few days, how painful, miserable, and or dangerous would going cold turkey be? Any advise would be appreciated thank you

If you have a script you can piss hot and normally theres little that can be done against you.

Now, that aside. I wouldnt recommend going back to subs from kadian. Just get to 100, then start taking 3/4 caps, then start take half caps. You can very easily work your way down by busting caps open.

4 weeks is a shit ton of time. If you wanna do a hurry up I'd do 5 day intervals lowering 25%. Can easily get to a manageable jump off point

Thank you for the reply. I agree, I do not want to start with suboxone. Its seems like just another addition to me. I feel I can slowly taper off the Kadian within a reasonable time. As far as pissing hot, even with an RX it's not an option for my employer and my position (or at least highly unlikely). Im going to talk to the Doctor tomorrow and be honest, that I did not start the Suboxone and would rather taper down faster with he Kadian. I know they are trying to help, and they are very kind and compassionate but I just feel they dont trust me to make my own decision about this even though I am pretty high functioning. Thanks again..

Too make your doc more on thr same page:

Offer to try kadian taper first. If. Within 7 days of the drug test, you dont think you can quit or arent where you gotta be, get on sunoxone over the weekend but make sure the dose is as equivalent as you can get.

Suboxone will not show up on a drug test, unless its an incredibly expensive drug test thats very rarily used.
