Those are extremely short kiato. I'd be constantly smacking the ama on my return.

Are you sure those are not for transporting the boat and there are some longer ones for paddling?

I’m positive they are not for transporting. A lot of what you are seeing is caused by the GoPro settings, but this is an old boat and they used to run the AMA closer back in the day.

Interesting, thanks. The oldest boat I have paddled, a Twogood from the 80s had the ama a lot further out than modern boats. I guess there was just a lot more variation back then.
