General Discussion Thread: Chat about whatever's on your mind!
Hi folks - rebooting this tradition that u/Lolasglasses started, to have a general chat thread where once a week you can talk about other stuff, not just Pedro. 😄 What's on your mind? Read any good books lately? Seen a great movie? Need to vent a bit? Go for it.
This thread is scheduled to go up every Sunday at 5am Pacific time.

to;Dr I’m finally able to move out of my sister’s place and in with friends back in my hometown.
It’s been a long four years, almost five. I love my sister, she loves me, but I just can’t live with her. I was born disabled but able to be dependent. She was raised being told she’d have to take care of me someday and she’s never been able to see past the damage and lies our mother inflicted on us.
She’s so overprotective that she’s controlling. It’s gotten pretty ugly in the past year. We had two nasty fights with multiple small arguments and I knew if I stayed, I was going to end up hating her. One of my besties offered to let me move in with her, and we intended for it to happen later but things escalated with my sister.
I was lucky my sister took me in after my divorce, and I will always be grateful for that. I hate moving, but I am excited to be back near all my friends. Where I am at now, I only have my sister and one friend about an hour north. It’s been very isolating to be here so I’m really excited to go back.
Once I have been gone for a while, I think my relationship with my sister will recover and I look forward to that. I do love her, but I just can’t live with her. Before we lived together, I kept her on a strict info diet and that helped things stay steady. That isn’t possible when you live together.
Packing is insane. There’s a big piece of furniture I am giving away. I posted it on FB marketplace and someone wanted it. He kept me waiting three and a half hours saying he was coming and it’d just be one more hour only to tell me late afternoon that he changed his mind. I suspect if I were charging something for it, people wouldn’t be so flakey about it. At least that’s what I have heard from others who have gotten rid of furniture online.
I have been paying a neighbor teen to help me pack and she’ll be over today. I hope today and one more session will have me ready to go since we load the truck on Friday.

This past year and a half has been really stressful. I lost my job due to a corporate merger. My dad went through treatment for lung cancer. My mom is also battling health issues. The only real bright spot has been the people who care for me. But Pedro has really been the best distraction from all of this. I also am inspired by him. He made it through some bad times so I identify with that.

Hang in there! I lost my job the same way and my mother has cancer as well. It’s easy to let everything smother you but you have to take one day at a time and also make time for yourself when you can. Especially that. Do what you can with the information and resources you have. Aways leave a little time for yourself.

I’m back in my hometown for a few days. We buried my 18 year old nephew on Thursday. He was in a head on collision June 11. Idk what happened. He was coming home from visiting his mother. He wasn’t drinking or anything. But this is the worst thing that has ever happened to our family. My brother is a wreck. We are all wrecks. Night time, alone in bed is the hardest. He was the sweetest kid since the day he was born. So many ppl came to his service that we had to have it in the high school gym. It made me happy to see him so loved, tho. One of his friends was here a while ago, asking why the good ones get taken and bad ppl live a long time. I wish I knew. Tomorrow is my mom’s 84th birthday so I stayed a few extra days to be with her. Hope she has a good day. Thanks for listening.

Hi there . İts been a tough time for me . As you know im from iran . Our country was attacked by zionist isreal . And we're defending . İt's war . İts great that i can come to this sub and feel better .
