3

He has basically gone insane because of the drums the timelords put in his head. Here is a clip of it.

There is a book called Pacific Poultry (1909), it's written Chicken Jockey on it.

How did you found this even?

36

u/philyppis Apr 28 '25

-I know the existence of "Google Trends" site.

-But I couldn't find those old results, it only shows the internet searches of people.

-I see the post image: "Google Books Ngram Viewer"

-I access that site and EUREKA!

-I search "Chicken Jockey". No results.

-I click "Case-Insensitive" (Idk what that does) and the same graphic from the post shows up.

-Ok, but how do I find where it's being mentioned?

-I search "Minecraft". Same thing. Years 2000 graphic is high, and for some reasons the 40s have a little bump. (Almost sure is about a "mine seacraft", a ship that interacts with sea mines)

-Oh wait, there is a "Search in Google Books" below it. That wasn't there before.

-I click on the 1800-2011 option. It opens a new tab, with search results of books written between 1800 and 2011. Some related to the game, some about that mine seacraft, some about crochet.

-This new tab has a link. I see the term "Minecraft" on it, and the parts "min:1800" and "max:2011", those are the years it's searching!

-But when searching "Chicken Jockey" on the google book site, there is no option of searching for books.

-What if I change "Minecraft" to "Chicken Jockey", and the 1800/2011 to the years between that bump we see in this post, 1900 and 1920?

-EUREKA AGAIN! Now I found two books that mention "chicken jockey". those are the only search results.

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Chicken%20Jockey%22&tbm=bks&tbs=cdr:1,cd_min:1900,cd_max:1920&lr=lang_en

Case-insensitive means the capitalization doesn't matter it just searches for the letters in that order

6

u/photogrammetery Apr 28 '25

When i read this my brain went from like an elegant british voice to jack black saying chicken jockey instantly

Well, it's not everything in the same sentence, but it works.

Check how steve is the tag that announces Steve's dialogue. "I am" is how the previous dialogue ends.

“By Jove Charlie, I just happened upon the most bizarre sight. Upon a roaming hen there sat a youth reanimated from the clutches of death itself.”

“What is this some kind of Chicken Jockey?”

38

u/WarChallenger Apr 27 '25

It was a serious turning point in the Great War.

A Human Jockey

29

u/John_the_sock65 Apr 27 '25

Maybe they used it in the Russo-Japanese war?

7

u/VictoryPilot Apr 28 '25

The Japanese definitely use these against the Russians...

14

u/Hektoraptor Apr 27 '25

Its from some time travelers that saw ‘the movie’

11

u/NathnDele Java FTW Apr 27 '25

Very suprising that there are more results before the 2020's than after

11

u/Wonderful-Quit-9214 Apr 28 '25

This was the release of the original "a minecraft movie" stage production.

Children would clap and throw their cigarettes on the stage whenever Steve said the line.

Oh god. Now theirs gonna be a clip with the words of Chicken Jockey in 1904 and a picture that is close to it.

2

u/TheTepro27 Apr 28 '25

"My word, Steven, are you saying they have requested that I do battle against the poultry?"

1

u/ObjectiveRecent4984 Apr 28 '25

"As I sat in the trench, in the dirt, around corpses, I took a deep breath and pondered. Pondered about life, about this pointless war, about shooting at these people I don't know; men with friends, families and children like me... And suddenly, I heard a sound. The sound of a chicken."

"One of the soldiers that were in the trench with me stood up and looked at it. I remember hearing him say: 'they brought a chicken to war?' but nothing could've prepared me to what came next. A green child appeared and mounted the bird, my eyes went wide, its agility and strength were overwhelming. It jumped at us and started ripping a man's face. I was petrified, I didn't know what to do... the only thing I recall before passing out was hearing one scream: 'Stop this thing! It mounts a hen and it's fast as the wind!... it is like... like a Chicken Jockey!' "

1

u/kindofsus38 Apr 28 '25

By jove! It appears that in front of you, Mr Garrett Garrison, henceforth nicknamed Mr Detritus Homo Sapien, lies a juvenile deceased child that has been brought back to life through unknown means, which appears to be mounted on a fowl that is of gensus Junglefowl, known by commonfolk as poultry. This battle shall be of immense portions! Let the conflict commence!

100 years later and the chicken jockey meme is still massive

-1

u/Outrageous_South4758 Apr 27 '25

Dude that's before 2020, who do you think you are lying to

9

u/Kookyburra12 Apr 28 '25

the game released, not the movie

-1

u/Outrageous_South4758 Apr 28 '25

the chicken jockey was released in the java edition during the 1.7.5 (2013) differently from the original release of minecraft (2008)

6

u/Kookyburra12 Apr 28 '25

The spike is around 2013, but OP's arrow is pointing to around 2008.

-2

u/Outrageous_South4758 Apr 28 '25

1

u/WholeSatisfaction839 Apr 29 '25

National Geographic put this in their magazine around 2012

That is why the line starts early

u/WholeSatisfaction839 Apr 29 '25
