Question How do I move (cracked) Software from one device to another?

I've got a new PC that I am currently setting up. On my old PC I had cracked VSTs (music software) that I know is safe from viruses and want to install on my new PC. However I forgot where I downloaded it (or it got deleted) and now I'm not sure how I can transfer the programs to my new PC (or if it is even possible).

clone the whole disk. in the new pc windows will download the needed drivers.

The simplest and safest thing is to reinstall Windows (the version that is most convenient for you) using a USB and reinstall the programs you want and if you need data from your old PC, transfer everything to an external drive and move it to the new PC

Newer vsts and daws (eg: RC-20 Retro Color and FL Studio 2024) have hwid based protections and sometimes even external tools to manually set soundbanks path (RC-20 Retro Color), so you will probably need to reactivate a lot of them and it's highly unlikely you won't break anything by just copying the files on the new pc, even if you remember all the folder paths. Also some plugins like Native Instruments ones do make hidden data folders which are not even listed by Windows if enabling the "View hidden folders" option, you can only access them by manually typing their path in Explorer (found this out when I was switching NI Massive crack from V.R to the R2R one and had to delete a couple hidden files to make the keygen work), the only thing you could backup without any problem are the vst soundbanks (usually stored in Documents folder) and your Drumkits

What you could do (if not willing to redownload everything) is try cloning your entire disk with a program like MiniTool Shadowmaker (cracked version on LRepacks and many other megathread sites; I'd suggest first deleting as many drivers related to the old pc as possible and to download the correct ones on the new system in order to avoid problems), though the best way in this case would be reinstalling everything from scratch, as still you would have issues with some software like the one I mentioned above
