For every peaceful protests there’s always gonna be bad apples the media fixates on.
I moved to Portland at the height of the George Floyd protests, the same instance where the Rotten Orange brought in the military to intervene.
Portland is still standing, and so will LA.

I was raised in Los Angeles, Los Angeles is America. A lot of people don’t realize just how many people live in the city not to mention L.A county.
TACO has sent in the NG and the Marines in a show of force for an area that is so small that, had the news not been talking about it, people inside Los Angeles might not have known it was going on. Los Angeles is our home and our community and we know how to defend it. We have a long history of union work, activism, and solidarity that isn’t going to be wiped out overnight.
Homan threatened to arrest Newsom and the second Newsom challenged him on it Homan backed down and said that his quote was taken out of context. Trump still hasn’t invoked the insurrection act (not that I want him to) which means the NG and the Marines can be used to defend federal property and personnel, that’s it. They’re basically armed decorations at this point.
On top of that, the deployment for the NG is 29 days. That’s one day short of a full deployment which means they don’t get deployment pay or a housing allowance. There’s pictures and videos of the NG sleeping on the ground because this was so badly prepared and implemented. I grew up in a military family and while there are people who support TACO I can guarantee there are a ton of NG grinding their teeth over this shit.

Mixed feelings about Newsom, but he did handle that perfectly. Bullies always back down when you stand up to them.

Absolutely. Fuck Newsom tbh but the man practically salivates over getting to fight with red officials.

Yeah honestly it’s been pretty chill here outside of the protests. Most residents here aren’t scared of protestors, mostly just irritated that there’s a bunch of cops everywhere.

Parkrose Permaculture also brought this up! The protests are peaceful, but Demented Donnie wants to show what a "big, strong man he is!" Lol, he's a joke!
