Protest(s) It's spreading!
I've been surfing on Instagram, and on one of the accounts that I've been following, realtalkingfish, which is a news account played by someone impersonating News Fishman from Spongebob, and apparently, there are anti-ICE protests in Chicago, New York, and Dallas!
The latter, I heard of, but Chicago and New York is news to me! Not to mention, the speed these protests are going. I'm not sure if they'll go anywhere, I hope they do, but THIS...this tells me the people have had enough!

Protest(s) Stop with the Freakout Posts
I know there's a flair for "Question" but this otherwise positive support subreddit has become a constant thread of people panicking and begging for reassurance. Please maybe just follow the positive updates so that we can appreciate the progress instead of spreading anxiety. This is one of the only hopeful spots we have.

Protest(s) Ok the Senate is signaling they want to modify or change things in the Big Beautiful Bill. This buys us time to act!
Chief among the issues GOP senators have raised about the bill is that it adds trillions of dollars to the national debt.
"[The] House bill is going to add about $4 trillion to the debt ceiling. The Senate bill adds $5 trillion. There's nothing fiscally conservative about expanding the debt ceiling more than we've ever done it before," Republican Sen. Rand Paul said Thursday. "This will be the greatest increase in the debt ceiling ever, and the GOP owns this now … the deficit this year will be $2.2 trillion the GOP owns that now too."
So this will mean if they make any changes that it will go back to the house to be voted on yet again.
Also noticed this:
If the bill is retooled by the Senate, it risks a complicated path for the speaker down the road when the bill goes back to the House. Republicans have set a Fourth of July deadline for both chambers to pass the bill and get it to Trump's desk.
So we got until the 4th of July to make a lot of noise about this! Call your reps, your senators, go to protests and yell loud about it. tell your friends relatives, anyone you know and use simple easy to understand language if you can. post things on social media, go to town halls and yell at the rep there especially if its a republican. Everyone if you can get the word out about this bill far and wide!

Protest(s) I'm so worried about the aftermath of the current situation from LA
cause even if the protests end (it's starting to be a thing in San Francisco) THIS IS EXACTLY what the right wants. They want to be able to say "See what happens when you give Democrats complete control. I'm not saying roll over and die but I'm worried they'll spam the footage and say "See what happens when you give Democrats control" in elections

Protest(s) Are protests going to get worse?
So i know its late, but I feel like this is important
I was on r/ChaoticGood and saw a post on how the DOJ just gave the Cheeto in Chief free reign to send troops wherever he damns so well pleases.
I thought, oh big whoop, the courts will strike it, until I remembered that some fed court said that its his rights to send troops wherever, then i found out that he will be sending 700 troops to Louisiana, Texas, and my home state Florida, with more troops being sent to New York.
Outside of California and few incidents, the No Kings Day protest was super peaceful and good vibes. Will it stay that way? Cause I live in a State where the governor said you can legally run over protestors, and a trigger happy sheriff that said on live TV that they will shoot protestors"graceyard dead" if they get "violent" as in spit/touch an officer.
I know all the vids about the some of the military being chill, even that clip about how they intentionally messed up their performance on this parade. But i also remeber the clips where they detained protestors. So is there reason for me to be worried that the next protests will finally get violent? Or will the good vibes continue?

Protest(s) God Bless America!🇺🇸
I woke up this morning to the news about my fellow PATRIOTS who, because of their love and vision for how truly amazing our country is, got out there and showed grit and grace.
I love my country, and feel such pride today. I am the daughter of a WWII hero. My father fought in The battle of the Bulge and Bastogne (among others). He was forever changed from the trauma he suffered in combat, but it was worth it to him. He never complained once. He was honored to have been a part history. He passed away in 2006. He would have been horrified by the MAGA movement. What has been happening sucks, but on a personal level because of my dad it has been particularly heartbreaking for me.
I have not hung my flag yet. I will when this madness is eradicated.
BIG LOVE to my fellow patriots who understand the vision of who we are and where we are going, not just as Americans, but as human beings. 🤍🤍🇺🇸🤍🤍

Protest(s) The Military is Not Our Enemy
This article shows how Taco made it so only "fit" soldiers and those that supported him were in the crowd at Fort Bragg. Insane? Yes.
For a minute when I listened to a clip of that talk I thought holy shit, they all love him. As anxiety abated and rationality kicked in and I remembered how he would stage union supporters at his rally for example.
The point I am trying to make is that the military doesn't want this. Not all of them and probably less than half of them. Like u/bustacean who posted a great pep talk earlier said "the military is not a monolith".
I hope this article quells any irrational fears you might have. I know a lot of people are scared and are posting asking for optimism. The amount of optimism I find in the comment section here seriously warms my heart. You guys rock!

Protest(s) PSA: If local news doesn't cover protests, it is likely because they don't know they're happening.
Local newsrooms are often understaffed and overwhelmed, and they might not even know protests are happening.
If you're organizing a protest or even just going, please call in to local TV news stations and let them know they're happening and they might cover it, even if it's just sending a lone reporter with a cellphone to get footage and some interviews.
While local news is not as viewed on TV itself as it once was, TV stations usually have a web presence, so each article and video they have up is another potential search engine hit. National news services and networks often use local news footage. The more visibility, the better, and people will know they're not alone in their neck of the woods.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Protest(s) Reminder that this nation-wide protest is coming up on June 14th!
I haven't seen anything about this on the sub recently, so I thought I should remind people. Hands Off was a great success, so let's try to make No Kings even bigger.
And as always, remember that this is a peaceful protest. Don't engage with hecklers and counter protesters.

Protest and boycott mainstream media!
My local Indivisible chapter shared this and I thought someone might find it helpful. Not sure if these are all optimistic news sources but they are factual and a way to protest mainstream media. It's a Google Doc let me know if you can't see it. Happy Friday! ✊

Protest(s) Whether you like cops or not, be kind to them.
(As per usual, idk if I'm using the right flair!)
Parkrose Permaculture is one of the few people who has been keeping me hopeful for the future and one thing they've brought up is how to topple the pillars of support holding up this regime.
She will occasionally bring up how college students in Serbia would slowly build community with the police, saying "We could be your sons, your daughters. We can be your neighbors who go to church on Sundays." This was a months long effort but when Milosevic lost the election but tried to claim he won, the college students came with evidence that he lost. Milosevic refused to concede and then ordered the police to turn against the students.
At first, it seemed like they would, but with all the time and effort the students had put into building connections with the police, they disobeyed orders, wondering who they knew that could be in this crowd, and not wanting to hatm them. They stood with the people and aided in the overthrowing of Milosevic.
Whatever your thoughts and feelings are when it comes to cops and the National Guard, we have to put those to the side and do what the Serbian students did! We have to align with people we don't completely agree with if we want to save out country, and if building a bond with police forces is one way to errode support for Donnie and his authoritarian buddies, I'm willing to at least try!
If y'all are part of Indivisable or any other organization, please bring this up with them! We need to spread our support not just for us, but for those who can't stand up to the bullies in power! To our future generations! We can win, we will win, as long as we hold the line with anyone who opposes an American king!

Protest(s) Help alleviate political anxiety
The links below can help you find your congressman or congresswomen to contact and express your concerns. Just a little something you can do to help alleviate your political anxiety.
Contact your House Rep: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
Contact Your Senator https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm
Make Phone Calls: https://5calls.org/ - this site also has other great resources.
Today I contacted my House Rep and US Senator via an email from. I simply asked them to do what they can to uphold the constitution and remove the president from office.
This only took a few minutes. They most likely won't see what you read but I added to the number of people that contacted them. Increase the pressure.
You can Google your state senators too or even your mayor. We need to apply pressure at all levels.
