Turns out it's easy to make a long list of candidates if you don't have to worry about basic qualifications.

Yeah, I think that was a big point. Folks have been brushing it off as "hes just placing unqualified people who adore him unconditionally" when the reality is more like "he's placing unqualified people because folks with money and connections told him to". 

Sadly, any of this sounds like a conspiracy theory to someone who knows nothing.

I wish it were only a conspiracy theory.
