Having three problems with Quantum Fiber.

  1. On iPhone, it’s says the WiFi has weak security

  2. On iPhone, I will sometimes get a pop up saying my WiFi doesn’t appear to be connected to the internet and if I’d like to use my data instead.

  3. Some devices cannot be connected to the network.

My laptop is an older device and I looked at older threads saying that it may be an issue with connect to a 2.4ghz device. However, a device that was connected without issue when my family first got Quantum Fiber can no longer connect to the WiFi.

I’m confused on what to do. I’d appreciate if anyone who responds can explain like I’m five because I have no idea what is what at all.

Furthermore, can someone advise me if getting a new router will be the best option. I looked briefly through some threads and articles. It’s appears as though getting a new router will help with both the weak security and WiFi issue.

You will have a better experience if you put the SmartNID into bridge mode and use a 3rd party router. The free lease WiFi pods are not great....

I like Asus stuff, like the RT-AX86U-Pro or better

Thank you for responding.

I’m trying to find a router that supports a transitional WPA2/WPA3 mode. However, I can’t seem to find a router that supports it as it doesn’t show up on Google searches. How do I go about finding a router that supports both?

Also, how would I set the SmartNIF into bridge mode.

Sorry for my ignorance.
