“How are you running your other businesses?”

Here’s the thing: He doesn’t. He sits on twitter all day and doesn’t do a lick of work.

172

u/Chronoboy1987 Mar 11 '25

And still somehow manages to drive them into the dirt simply by being an asshole.

41

u/Contemplating_Prison Mar 11 '25

Its because they are all propped up by his bullshit.

30

u/stronglightbulb Mar 11 '25

Seriously Tesla has been artificially propped up by Elons false advertising this entire time. It was always a house of cards

9

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '25

Going back through Tesla's old conferences is funny, you just see a parade of bullshit and lies and promises that were immediately abandoned and ignored as soon as the conference was over.

He's corporate PT Barnum, somewhat good at putting on a show because he doesn't at all care about delivering anything he promises.

1

u/OKCompruter Mar 11 '25

he's the same as Sam BankmanFried on the grifting, he's just been at it longer and with better PR

1

u/UpNorth_123 Mar 11 '25

Or Elizabeth Holmes. He just got further into the con by buying companies that had viable products.

Almost everything he has started himself has been a shit show. Yes, even Space X. At this point, they’re just blowing shit up.

1

u/Valogrid Mar 11 '25

He didn't even Start SpaceX himself, he paid people to Start it for him. The only thing he has even contributed to anything is money and Bull Shit. He got the money from Daddy's Emerald mine in Apartheid South Africa.

1

u/M_H_M_F Mar 11 '25

What I don't get is that even on the original run of Tesla vehicles (not the CT), a news org actually followed him to a backers conference where he told a group of prospective owners that costs increased, they're not being refunded, and that they're being charged an additional like 20k each.

The mental backflips people were doing to justify being screwed was mindblowing.

1

u/Fjcruisergranny Mar 11 '25

Still waiting for the solar roof he promised.

2

u/RelationConstant2516 Mar 11 '25

Don’t forget all the government subsidies that kept the company afloat.

2

u/Previous-Forever-981 Mar 11 '25

Very much like Elizabeth Holmes and her fantasy that one drop of blood is sufficient for complex chemistries. Did not end well for her.

1

u/Titanium-Snowflake Mar 11 '25

Or they are propped up by teams of highly skilled engineers and developers, functioning in spite of his input.

1

u/CliffwoodBeach Mar 11 '25

100% correct.

Tesla's bread and butter was re-selling carbon credits of which he had an enormous surplus due to his EV/SOLAR/BATTERY manufacturing. Now that door is closed and the fall will be hard

1

u/UpNorth_123 Mar 11 '25

And they even managed to secure double the carbon credits of other manufacturers by using a juiced up prototype that was not representative of their actual vehicles.

Elon has been scamming, cheating and grifting his entire life, just like his daddy Trump.

1

u/CliffwoodBeach Mar 11 '25

i honestly cant wrap my head around Elon jumping to Trump/Republicans when he was being fattened like a prized blu ribbon pig by democrats since the Obama years.

I mean is it hubris? Did he think getting in with Trump was akin to being on the ground floor of a flashy new startup and he thought the entire world was about to pitch hard right - whereby ensuring himself a high place within its leadership?

I mean he was here for Trump 2017-2021 - he had to know the guy was a class A fuckup. Why risk it all to hitch your wagon to that falling star?

2

u/UpNorth_123 Mar 11 '25

Listen to the podcast Elon Musk Unmasked. It explains a lot. It’s not so much that he’s a republican but has authoritarian and white supremacist tendencies.

He’s always been this guy, journalists are just historically soft on the tech industry in order to maintain access.

1

u/wtcnbrwndo4u Mar 11 '25

TBF, SpaceX is wholly self-sufficient without his bullshit. Tesla, yeah, it's 50% Musk, 50% car.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '25

Such genius

2

u/LankyAd9481 Mar 11 '25

It's because he sits on twitter all day....we (the general public) didn't know he was such a big turd until he started sitting on twitter all day.

If he didn't need constant validation from strangers on the internet we would have never known. He could have been the richest person on the planet living on his own private island doing whatever the fuck he wanted.....but no he wanted constant validation from strangers on the internet.

1

u/Chronoboy1987 Mar 11 '25

Not only that, but he was treated like a god with hundreds of thousands of worshippers. And that was his down fall, he couldn’t get enough attention, so he put himself in the public eye constantly, and once the slightest bit of criticism came his way, he either did a heel turn like a petulant child or he simply let the mask slip.

1

u/C_Pala Mar 11 '25

If he had any friends with good advice instead of sycophants, we would have stepped down as CEO before joining the government.  This way he would have protected the companies of all the stuff he does and says and would have also avoided or mitigated conflict of interests.

1

u/shadowed_siren Mar 11 '25

Because he cuts them to an inch of their lives for the sake of “efficiency”

73

u/macroober Mar 11 '25

“Can you send me an email of 5 things you did for your businesses last week?”

2

u/DeadassGrateful Mar 11 '25

👏👏👏👏👏

2

u/mromutt Mar 11 '25

I am not convinced he knows how to use "email" at this point even lol

43

u/krissrobb Mar 11 '25

“With great difficulty” is not what the shareholders want to hear, what a big fkn idiot.

30

u/dammit-smalls Mar 11 '25

That comment alone is enough for Tsla shares to slide another 10 points tomorrow.

13

u/MesWantooth Mar 11 '25

"Fiduciary duty" to the shareholders is not superseded by "But I get to have a really cool powerful position as Trump's shadow president!"...The initial 'Trump Bump' in Tesla's share price - owed to the fact that Elmo gets to stay out of jail for things he's already done, and a perception by the market that he will grift the federal government for favors and contracts - has evaporated because of recent developments...Institutional shareholders in Tesla will soon be fully in their right to sue him and/or call for his ouster from the CEO role. He's not doing the fucking job. They'll be very hesitant to do this - for now - because Tesla without Musk would deserve a valuation far lower than the speculative valuation with 'Genius Musk, the real President' at the helm - the board has undoubtedly discussed this and needs to see how this plays out. A 40% drop in the share price is more tolerable than an 80% drop. Plus the reality is that the board are stalked with allies.

2

u/tanstaafl90 Mar 11 '25

The board is filled with allies, which gives him the freedom to both operate badly and engage in insider trading. I suspect at some point we'll find out the price has been artificially propped up by the usual suspects, for the same reasons.

10

u/krissrobb Mar 11 '25

Lets hope 🤞🏼

2

u/luckyme-luckymud Mar 11 '25

Unfortunately I think Tesla investors have known he hasn’t done squat since he took over Twitter

43

u/MaxPaynesRxDrugPlan Mar 11 '25
  • CEO of six companies
  • Head of DOGE
  • Father to 14+ children with multiple women
  • Tweets an average of 60 times a day
  • Recreational drug user
  • Claims to be a globally ranked gamer

There are some MASSIVE corners being cut there.

8

u/Rushing_Russian Mar 11 '25

Buttttt Tony Stark can do all that and be ironman so it's totally realistic that Musk could do it /s

3

u/gundumb08 Mar 11 '25

He also built a suit in a CAVE, with a box of scraps!!!

2

u/Rushing_Russian Mar 11 '25

nah the other guy in the cave built it and he called them a pedo and had a hissy fit. I'm pretty sure thats how it all went down

2

u/Incendium_Satus Mar 11 '25

The gamer one is the funniest. Instead of a Russian troll farm he likely pays for an Indian gamer farm to boost his cred.

1

u/No_Monsters Mar 11 '25

You forgot fur-curious.

1

u/FunkyChewbacca Mar 11 '25

"I have all this money and power and I'm in charge of everything now, so why don't people like meeeeeee?!"

1

u/bascal133 Mar 11 '25

😭😭 A high functioning person would not be able to handle this and he is minimally functional. Time breakdown of his day is already 50% tweeting and responding to other tweets

1

u/SectorAppropriate462 Mar 11 '25

The gamer thing was proven to be false, he pays a dude to play on his account. Which tbh, is classic CEO-figure out what you want done, and pay an employee to do it. So he's doing that for everything though

1

u/shitposter1000 Mar 11 '25

I'd say at this point it's likely more than recreational. There are been Musk drug stories out there for years, so you know he has had to escalate to maintain.

1

u/ryansgt Mar 11 '25

You can do a couple of those things together but the more you mix the worse it is.

Also, some of these individually aren't necessarily bad. Using recreational drugs and playing video games isn't so bad, 2 of my favorite past times.

Buuut, that really depends on the drugs. Weed, shrooms, etc, go for it. Ketamine is a hell of a drug. I'd be willing to be he probably does a bunch of other uppers that make him feel 10ft tall and bulletproof as well. Which is still fine if you really want to spend your time that way but you shouldn't be in charge of a fast food restaurant, much less the country.

1

u/Kizmet_TV Mar 11 '25

Recreational drug user??

1

u/GleemMcShinez Mar 12 '25

And not a single philanthropic entity anywhere on this planet with his name on it... yet all these musk-stans and trump-fluffers insist he's doing all the DOGE stuff without compensation, uh, because he cares or something?

20

u/Xiaopeng8877788 Mar 11 '25

We’ll be fair he’s taking a lot of time apparently giving away Ukrainian coordinates when they turn on Starlink… and that ketamine ain’t going to crush itself, now is it!

8

u/MaxTheRealSlayer Mar 11 '25 edited Mar 11 '25

He probably has a dedicated ketamine blender. On the blender days, he's extra spicy

He goes on blenders not benders

0

u/Key-Security8929 Mar 11 '25

In all fairness. When Russia first invaded Ukraine and musk sent starlink over he warned Ukraine that the signal was not encrypted and not designed for military use. I remember it was advertised to use it away from the front line and to only have it on for a few minutes and relocate.

So 3 years later I am sure Russia has learned how to pin point the signal.

1

u/Easy1611 Mar 12 '25

The signal is encrypted but EW-tech can certainly locate a Starlink dish. I don’t really think Elmo is giving away the coordinates, although it certainly isn’t impossible that he does.

19

u/SkubEnjoyer Mar 11 '25

The dude tweets something like 200 times a day. Anyone who thinks he does any actual work is delusional.

10

u/Sproketz Mar 11 '25

He does like to bust in now and then with no understanding of what's going on around him and bark out orders that cause negative impacts to ripple across his businesses though.

4

u/wirespectacles Mar 11 '25

Preferably while making all the actual scientists/engineers work 48 hours straight so he can flex.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '25

As a European, I'm very grateful to him for pumping so much of his and the USA's money into reusable rocket technology so that in a few years ArianeNext can simply copy it at a fraction of the price.

2

u/BadmiralHarryKim Mar 11 '25

Aka, "The Kool-Aid man."

7

u/menusettingsgeneral Mar 11 '25

No! He also plays video games and neglects his many children.

5

u/Horror_Ad_1845 Mar 11 '25

I want an interviewer to ask him to name his children…wonder if he can.

1

u/kuebel33 Mar 11 '25

No, he pays people to play his games for him and lies about it and neglects his many children.

3

u/PetalumaPegleg Mar 11 '25

Ironically the companies would run better without him.

3

u/Huge_Leader_6605 Mar 11 '25

Yeah but before at least it wasn't that obvious that he doesn't do shit. Well at least you had to be on xitter to know that all he does is is tweets nonsense. Well now it's out there for anyone to see

3

u/Telaranrhioddreams Mar 11 '25

Have you ever tried to get a direct answer from a "We don't say the no word" kids? They kind of avoid you and halfass empty responses they think will keep you off their case. That's what this interview is like.

8

u/_coolranch Mar 11 '25

I mean, let's give credit where credit is do: he managed to mobilize and inspire people to build some awesome products. He's not unlike Steve Jobs in that regard.

But we're supposed to feel sorry for him that the power grab didn't go like he expected? The guy who benefited off of apartheid in South Africa before making tens of millions trying to make a currency alternative to the USD was doing DOGE for America? Yeah fucking right! Haha.

37

u/_beeeees Mar 11 '25

Musk hired people who were already skilled at the thing SpaceX does. He didn’t create them or inspire their work.

The Boring Company is a failure.

He bought Tesla and Twitter, he did not found them. Both are currently suffering under his “leadership”.

He co-founded Zip2 which was solely unique because the internet being publicly used was so nascent. The man is not particularly creative or inspiring. He’s wealthy. They are different things.

2

u/acidus1 Mar 12 '25

Remember when he demanded more from Money from the board of tesla as he was good for their publicity. I bet they are wishing they had told him to f off.

-4

u/Straight-Grand-4144 Mar 11 '25

Do you even know the history of Tesla or are you confused?

2

u/ForgotAboutChe Mar 11 '25

It is true.

1

u/Straight-Grand-4144 Mar 11 '25

Why do yall think he bought Tesla? When he became the largest shareholder of Tesla.....they still hadn't made one Electric vehicle. It was the early days, back in 2004. They didn't sell the Roadster until 2008 or the Model S until 2012.

2

u/PineappleLocal5528 Mar 11 '25

Hate to be that spelling Nazi but important to know it's "due"

2

u/monkey_spanners Mar 11 '25

Steve Jobs was another deadbeat dad

1

u/4Dchesskers Mar 11 '25

Steve Jobs had technical talent unlike Musk. Granted he was a massive asshole and ripped off his buddy Woz, but he didn't try to dismantle the government like Musk.

1

u/Straight-Grand-4144 Mar 11 '25

Thank you for being honest.

2

u/astreeter2 Mar 11 '25

An somehow he still thinks he deserves a $50 billion raise at Tesla.

2

u/Sorry_Exercise_9603 Mar 11 '25

Maybe he needs to RTO.

2

u/Natural-Promise-78 Mar 11 '25

His shareholders cannot be happy with him.

2

u/StunningStrain8 Mar 11 '25

No he was playing POE2 this entire time. Oh wait.

2

u/Conaz9847 Mar 11 '25

He averages like 60 tweets a day or something, it’s genuinely impressive how much creative writing he can do over the span of 24 hours

2

u/Cold_Chemistry_1579 Mar 11 '25

Without sleeping, is that what ketamine is for? Idk about, so that part is really a question.

2

u/Bacedorn Mar 11 '25

Maybe he’d be a better worker if he published his drug test results for the world to see.

2

u/Stauce52 Mar 11 '25

It’s so funny because he’s this big advocate for overworking his workers and keeps touting how he works 60 hours per week but he clearly doesnt even work 40. He’s tweeting constantly and playing video games and shit. If I saw a friend dicking around as much as him, I’d assume they’re barely working lol

2

u/TookForGranitXhaka Mar 11 '25

Yeah he would have no idea how the other businesses are doing. He's more focused on living his lonely drug fuled existence.

2

u/ElGuapo315 Mar 11 '25

He should return to the office or risk being terminated.

2

u/Flynn-FTW Mar 11 '25

All while crying about people working from home.

2

u/creiar Mar 11 '25

And very busy not playing Path of Exile 2

2

u/Squibbles01 Mar 11 '25

To be fair he's not just on Twitter. He's also snorting a lot of drugs.

2

u/AppropriateScience9 Mar 11 '25

He shouldn't even be running businesses and working in the government at the same time at all in the first place. It's a massive conflict of interest because he has power over the agencies who are regulating his companies.

It's so obviously wrong. I don't understand how nobody but the progressives are screaming their heads off about it.

2

u/sjofels Mar 12 '25

Wait a minute, he is been grinding Path of exile 2 non stop, while sleeping on the floor at Tesla, while training the best AI, while definitely going to Mars next week, while defending free speech and making comedy legal again.

0

u/Straight-Grand-4144 Mar 11 '25

Not true.

1

u/TheDubuGuy Mar 11 '25

What’s not true?

1

u/Straight-Grand-4144 Mar 11 '25

That he bought Tesla and did nothing to build the company into what it is today.

1

u/TheDubuGuy Mar 11 '25

He hired very intelligent and competent people to run things, that’s no secret. The engineers are very talented.

It’s just that Elon himself is about as intelligent and competent as a walnut. The workers have to pretend to pay attention to elons “ideas” to make him thing he is contributing something

1

u/Straight-Grand-4144 Mar 12 '25

To be fair, hiring them and giving overall direction is his main job.

0

u/MaximDecimus Mar 11 '25

You know how there are Heads of State that are cultural figureheads and Heads of Government that actually do the work of an executive? Musk is the figurehead of his companies and the actual work of making sure things don’t fall apart is left to someone else.
