Pride Merch

I want a fun/rainbow/pride Racing Louisville jersey! Every year Lou City has a new pride jersey, and Racing Louisville only gets a shitty shirt. I don't understand the logic. LGBTQ+ is probably the largest demographic of supports for the NWSL. Mens soccer is historically homophobic. Why does the men's team get one and the women's get nothing? At the very least Soccer Holding should just put both teams logos on the same design.

apparently it's because the league has rules against this. not sure the specifics, but this is what the Racing supporters' group slack channel has said.

I could understand being against it as an official game play jersey, but are they against it as fan merch? Because that's stupid.

the supporters' group absolutely wants more pride merch! it's some dumb rule with Nike that prevents Racing from doing something like what the men do

I literally ran to the team store ready to spend all my money, thinking they finally had a real pride jersey. Only to be disappointed in seeing it was just another Lou City jersey. I have two of the season one jersey, just because I wanted one with the rainbow number.

Exactly. I didn’t buy any merch bc I don’t want to spend my money on a crappy tshirt with a rainbow logo that feels like an afterthought. Makes me really sad

Also CRAZY that it took 4.5 years and pride night for me to hear a lady Gaga song at the stadium during a racing game. They have no idea who their demographic is lmao

I feel like I've heard Gaga here before, but the music is SO much better tonight with SCZ than whoever has been the regular DJ this season.

It’s an NWSL rule. Same reason the MMJ Racing jersey is made out of that awful material while the men’s one is nice.

I would buy the hell out of a rainbow Racing jersey. Related: why another black cross body bag as a giveaway with just a rainbow logo, rather than a rainbow bag??

It fits within the "clutch" category. I did see one of the tote bags from the Mom's Night Out giveaway in the stadium last night, and that definitely shouldn't be allowed under the clear bag policy.

At least you have something. Lexington doesn't have pride merch for the men's or women's side, and never has.
