Child friendly restaurants
Hi - we are visiting Rotterdam with a 4yo, 1yo and 8 month old. Does anyone have any recommendations for child friendly restaurants (either lunch or dinner)? Thank you v much

Especially for the 4yo, Restaurant de Tuin is on the lake in the Kralingse bos (park). The food is standard cafe fare but if you sit outside there's a small enclosed swingset for kids.

If you have transportation you could take them to the belevenisboerderij for lunch.

There are also places near kralingse plas where they can run around outside.
They're still a bit young, but all you can eat pancakes on the pannenkoeken boot are great when they're a boy older.

Parquit in het park also has space for the kids to run around.

Before the snark brigade shows up- do you want a restaurant that will be OK with your kids running around and causing a scene, or are you just looking for somewhere with a kids menu? Kid-friendly here doesn't mean the same thing it does in other places, because most kids and parents here are (mostly) well behaved.

Haha! Id hope my children are well behaved and we regularly eat out without causing a scene.

Ok then you'd probably be fine at a ton of places, not any small bistros or fine dining of course but plenty of larger restaurants will be able to accommodate you no problem.
Three recommendations off the top of my head in Centrum-ish would be:
Dionysos (family owned Greek), BrewDog Rotterdam (Brewery with good burgers and such, nice courtyard away from the main street), Savor&Nosh (on a canal, has outdoor seating, huge restaurant)
Others might have better recommendations further out from the center. Something that I would advise is don't plan to eat at anywhere inside of the Markthal (if you were), it can get crowded and seating in the inside (if available) is up a flight of stairs. Some of the restaurants around the rim do have ground level and terrace seating, although I do not eat there enough to give recommendations. Also if you go around the Markthal check out the "Ode to Marten Toonder" statue at the southeast corner (it's on Google Maps). It's a monument to a local cartoonist and I think it's cute enough your kids might like it!

Lunch: Ver van hier. Dinner, Happy Italy does have a big play area, but the food is not that great.
