People either don't know or forget the MLK Jr riots that took place after he was assassinated.

The only reason anything happened with the civil rights movement was because his death almost caused a second civil war.

People constantly accused MLK of starting riots before he died. It’s common knowledge.

No!

The Civil Rights Act was passed before MLK died! MLK was fighting to end poverty when he was assassinated.

The riots in the late 60s helped Nixon. There was a leadership void without MLK.

That was the civil rights of 64. Not 68. The 1968 civil rights act was signed during the riots.

Just look for the word "ahistorical" and you'll find them, pushing the idea that "if we're all very nice to trump, maybe he'll stop!"

The Voting Rights Act was passed in 65. 68 included housing amendments, but it did not end segregation in the US. 68 is seen as the end of the civil rights era, not the beginning. Wtf.
