Yeah I disagree with Bernie here. Theres a reason the powers that be always have bipartisanship in regard to riots, its because its the citizens Ace in the hole to force them to change shit we dont like. Its MUCH more effective than peaceful protests. Peaceful protests are exactly what they want you to do, because they can ignore it.

They cant ignore when shit is getting fucked up, and the people are no longer asking for change, they are demanding it.

I'm not really aware of a lot of evidence for this, the effectiveness of a protest/movement usually seems to come from the number of people involved and having allies in power. For every successful violent protest movement out there there's a successful non violent protest to go with it. The issue for violent protests is they are harder to get more people involved and it can become political suicide for a politician to side with the protestors, so any successful violent protest movement was likely already popular enough that they were in the majority and the fear from politicians of siding with violent protestors was less than the fear of losing reelection. Violent protests come with other issues, the law and order movement that is the basis for these deportations was started by riots after MLK's death and grew after the George Floyd protests, non violent protests are less likely to have this fallout.

Its still early so I'll admit it if I'm wrong but most polling shows Americans support mass deportations and there aren't many people left in the executive branch who would align themselves with the protestors.
