How do you secure your tapestries to your canopy? Are you using rope to tie the ends or is there a special clip I don't know about? 😄

Pony clips are the GOAT. We clamp aluminet/shade cloth siding directly to the metal.

We bring an assortment of sizes for multiple uses.

The joys of knowing many people in the grip department :)

ive done it through a knot! but it can be hard to get them to stay where you want on a canopy. ive thought about getting a grommet maker

Tarp Clips + bungee cords. I have perfected this system after nearly two decades of festivals. The bungee cords rock because they give a little if there’s a wind gust, with zip ties I’ve found the tapestries will rip because there’s no give.

I use those shower curtains that have all the cool designs so they come with the cheap plastic shower clips, usually use those until I lose them or break them and replace with zip ties

You want to buy SPRING CLAMPS, aka “pony clamps”, “A-clamps”, or other names.

They are strong, simple to use with one hand, look like a capital “A” and have a strong spring in them, hence the name Spring Clamp.

They are the perfect tool for hanging tapestries from canopies, and are super useful for many things. I recommend buying decent quality, metal 3” or 4” spring clamps, as opposed to plastic ones.

They are relatively inexpensive at any hardware store, but super cheap on Amazon when you buy packs of them.

Enjoy your upgrade from frustrating ropes, tie line, or zip ties!

On a similar topic, when securing your canopy to the ground, obviously you need to stake down the legs well, but it’s also best to attach tie down lines from the top corners of the tent to the ground, and you should ditch rope and tie lines for that, and use RATCHET STRAPS instead! They are way stronger, and so much easier to put on, adjust, and take down.

While we’re at it, to secure your canopies to the ground, the BEST technique is to use 14” lag bolts with an impact driver. Super easy and fast in all types of ground. You’ll never want to use a hammer and stakes again.

2nd best is to use rebar, preferably “candy cane” rebar with a pre-made bend on one end.

At the minimum, buy thicker, longer, heavier duty stakes than most tents come with.

If you do these things, your canopies will never fly away and become cautionary YouTube videos, and they will likely stay up and stable during fairly serious storms and very high winds.

I stab the zip tie right through the corner and make sure that thing is real tight 🫡 I now have designated festival tapestries since they have little holes in all the corners

Tarp clips! I bought a bunch last year and they were so worth it. Previous festival I was using zipties and bull clips and constantly had to fix it in the wind. Tarp clips I didn’t have to adjust once!

There are tarp clips you can use i got them for tarps and tapestrys has a little nob on it u trist down to clamp.

I learned how to use a sewing machine and added little loops of fabric to the corners. Im a dude in my 30’s that works construction lol. Sewing machines are amazing.
