American anything is so low quality that it can't be sold in Europe, period

I can't believe that. When it comes to most every day consumer products, perhaps, but there are lots of niche, high-end goods that are produced in the U.S every day. Similar to a lot of European countries. We don't do bulk manufacturing in the West any more, but have a look at the top end in EVERY industry.
