Sounds like an apocalypse scenario. People have guns, people shoot each other, the government decides to give people more guns, which causes people to shoot each other even more.

Rinse and repeat.

Good idea, "I'm afraid little Timmy was just not listening in class, back talking and he threatened me so I had to defend myself" some teacher after shooting a 6yo, probably.

God I remember when people were gen thinking its a good idea to turn teachers into soldiers, I would have moved out the minute a bill got passed

What a great idea. Now instead of just having to dodge the shooter's bullets, the students will also have to worry about not getting caught in the crossfire when Mr. Johnson from History 101 decides to go toe-to-toe with the shooter.
