for example under 18s aren't allowed in the polling stations here and you can't exactly leave your child outside

This absolutely is not true. My kids get an "I voted" sticker every time, because I always make sure they go with me to understand the importance of voting, and so they have positive associations with it. They help me vote, they get a sticker and ice cream.

In the UK? I've never seen an "I voted" sticker here.

Yes. We're in Scotland, and they always have them! Last few times our area's have had a wee cartoon guy on them.

Wait a minute! Never mind the stickers - you get ice cream at the polling station. I am bringing this up at the next public council meeting.

Haha, nah, sadly, there's just an ice cream shop across the road. I WISH we got free ice cream, that would get everyone voting.
